Top Gear Magazine (sorta) reveals Aston Martin One-77

The Paris Motor Show has given up its secrets, but that doesn't mean the teasing is over. Top Gear magazine has the story on the Aston Martin One-77, joined by what will probably be more tease-tastic renders. One thing that can be gleaned from the rendering on the TG microsite is the headlight layout, with an inner row of LEDs leading back to an array that includes at least one additional cluster of LEDs. The front end still looks a tad overwrought to us – and a little reminiscent of the GTbyCitroen – but we suppose we'll just have to get a copy of Top Gear before we vote with our thumbs.

The more this car is teased, the less I actually like it. I still think it looks like something Mansory would've done (shiver), except...well, better.

Agree on the front end clutter, although maybe those brake cooling inlets look great from dead-ahead. The DBS is pretty 'cluttered' too though, so maybe that's Aston's direction.....

Personally, I think this car is overdone and overdesigned. The lines created by Fisker are simple, yet beautiful. This one not so much.

For the record, Ian Callum created those lines, not Henrik Fisker. Callum created the DB7 way back in 1994 (lasted until 2003) and the DB7 is credited as the foundation for all of AM's designs now. He also created the Vanquish and the foundation of the DB9, which was finished by his successor, Henrik Fisker. In the media, Fisker gets the credit for the DB9. Pretty much everybody else knows Callum was responsible for it.
Regardless, as the DBS and this One-77 prove, it's difficult to improve upon the DB9 or Callum's original design.

Im sorry, but am I the only one who thinks this looks exactly like every other car AM has made in the last 4-5 years + a body kit?
That being said, I still love them all :)

Red, if you're going to get specific, the DB7 was based on the '80s Jag F-type. Hence the glamorous curves.

I'd rather just buy a V8, actually, and a Veyron :)

I'm sorry, I love Aston's designs and cars to death but they all look the same. Branch out. Make a luxury sports sedan or something. Do something different guys.
The most common tool in the AM design studio? Tracing paper.
