The highly anticipated 2010 Chevy Camaro is now only a few months from hitting the showroom floor, and we're just getting the final scoop on standard and optional content that will be available for all five Camaro variants. Customers wanting to order a Camaro can choose from LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS models, and standard and optional equipment varies greatly between each package. The base model LS comes equipped with OnStar, 18-inch rims, and a 300-hp V6 engine, and the only optional item is floor mats. The 1LT package includes optional 19-inch rims, a Boston Acoustics sound system and a sunroof. The 2LT gets standard 19s, the sound system, leather seats, ambient lighting and Bluetooth and USB connections.
If you want your Camaro to include a 422-hp V8, you'll need to step up to the SS. The 1SS package includes standard 20-inch rims, four-piston Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential and engine and transmission cooler. Options include polished aluminum wheels, a sunroof, and the upgraded sound system. The 2SS model adds all the standard features of the 1SS package and the 2LT package plus options including dual rally strips, a sunroof, and the Inferno Orange Accent interior. All trims except for the LS model have the option of adding the RS package, which gets you 20-inch rims, HID lamps, a spoiler (for the LT model), a Midnight Silver paint finish, darkened tail lights, and body colored molding.
Camaro sales may still be a few months away, but you'll be able to order yours at a local dealer beginning October 13. The complete list of standard and optional equipment is available for your perusal after the jump.

What is "Body color roof Ditch molding"?

montoym 7:15PM (10/03/2008)
It the little section where the doors and roof match up. It's used as kind of a drain and gutter for most cars and they are usually black. That option would make them body-colored.

I thought it was stupid when cars with the next year model started to be sold 4 months in advance, but 2010 is still 15 months away, at this pace next year I will be buying a 2015 car.

They aren't being sold until around March next year, so that's only about 9 months from 2010.
Plus, most new cars are brought out around the middle of the year, usually July-August. So really, the Camaro will only be coming out about 3mos or so earlier than standard practice for most manufacturers.

The model year is determined by Federal law. Any new model introduced after Jan 1 MUST be designated as being the following year.
The Camaro won't be actually sold until early 2009 which then means it has to be designated as a 2010.
That One Person 1:41PM (10/04/2008)
Jay....you sure about that? Ford is still selling 08 vehicles (Taurus, Edge and a few others).
Zach 5:56AM (10/06/2008)
@That One Person
At the rate Ford is selling vehicles, they may very well be '08MY.
But, it's that logic that the Flex and Lincoln MKS are both 2009MY

don't mean to put a pin in the balloon here, but it appears the Camaro has 18, 19, and 20" WHEELS available. don't see a single mention of RIMS on the standard or optional equipment list from GM.
a RIM is the edge of something, like the rim of a cup, or the rim of the Grand Canyon. a wheel has a rim, too. it's just the edge of the wheel.
whenever I hear the term rim used in place of wheel, I keep thinking I'm overhearing a conversation between 14 year-old boys in East Los Angeles.

Right on.

I anonymously hate people who use different terminology than me too! It's just so f***ing important to me!
JetMech 7:34PM (10/03/2008)
I agree with AZ. Nobody invented the "rim". This isn't the difference between "bonnet" and "hood" or "windshield" and "windscreen". The rim is part of the wheel.
bill jackman 8:38PM (10/03/2008)
...and in the spirit of AZMike, it's dual rally "stripes" -- not "strips."
"Strips" is a slang noun and a verb in the present tense.
An example: "When your mom sees me in my new Camaro, I'm going to lay some strips. I'm pretty sure she'll be so impressed with my skills that I'm going to see her naked when she strips."
Benfolio 10:58AM (10/04/2008)
I had a guy tell me once he wanted to know how much RIMS were for his Chrysler 300 because he had WHEELS and did not want WHEELS he wanted RIMS.
*confused*

What, no standard USB (unbelievable!)??? This is the 21st century, right?
Does the radio at least play mp3-cds?
Beautiful car btw. I'm impressed with the production version.
