Click above for gallery of reader-submitted Panamera spy shots

We know when it happened, we just don't know why it happened. Autoblog reader Joshua Silverman sent in some cellphone pictures of a Panamera he drove by in Denver, Colorado. And all of a sudden -- like the Grinch's heart growing three sizes -- we liked it. Or at least, we got it.

Just to make sure, we had a look at the last set of Panamera spy shots, the ones that this very blogger lambasted as "still ugly," and, well, we kinda liked those, too. We could see possibilities. When the car is given the S and Turbo treatment, we could even imagine, incredibly, beauty. Have a look at the photos below for yourself, and tell us if we should take a bow for discovering the vision, or take a nap. Thanks for the tip, Joshua!

I agree with the other posts.
This still isn't doing it for me...

Suddenly not so bad? You gotta be kidding, right? This thing is still as hideous as ever. Almost as hideous as the Cayenne.

I dunno for some reason I actually kind of like the car. I can't really say why but it just seems kinda appealing.

The front end styling was always Porsche... it's the ass-end everyone's been having trouble with and it's still ugly, imo.

the back is the only thing i am worried about.

but i am in no condition to buy one so it really doesn't matter to me.

The car looks quite a lot better in real than on the spy shots. I've seen prototypes twice in Karlsruhe, Germany, and even though this car is huge, it does look fantastic, IMHO. No comparision to the spy shots at all.

Does anyone know where and when theses were taken in denver? I live in the area, so I was just wondering. Also, I used to work for one of the better known Porsche dealerships in CO and I was wondering if they were involved...

I dont think it looks that bad either.

thanks guys. I have never had the pleasure of spotting a concept on the road. I did have a Bugatti Veyron pass me on the highway though, that was cool.

        Ill keep my eyes out!

I was trying to read some of the signs and you can see University Blvd in reverse in the first shot(look at the Hi-Res versions).

That last shot is definitely right near Colorado Blvd(heading North on I-25) though. Makes sense being that University isn't too far from there.

The only sighting I've had was on I-25 just before Castle Rock about 4-yrs ago. I spotted a pre-production Audi Q7 travelling along with a B7 S4 Avant and an Audi A8L W12.

I took a few pics with my camera phone and posted them on a VW/Audi forum I belong to.

Cool thing was, a few months later, Audi released photos of the very same Q7 in Denver, on Pikes Peak and in Garden of the Gods in Colo Spgs.

That's the only close encounter I've had.

Some of those pics can be found here:

i've seen these on the roads here in LA, and i just saw it again last week on the roads in Zuffenhausen. it's still ugly. it looks like godzilla stepped on a cayanne.

      nope. still ugly.

on a side note, can't believe how cheap the bumpers are on recent porsches. Just like on this panamera, the fit and built quality is comparable to a kia. The gaps, the fitment, the side lights, and the obvious cheapness of it all just really puts me off, considering the price of the cars...

      Nope...still awkward. Sorry, no sale...

typical of you guys to always jump conclusions on a car's styling potential
