VIDEO: British comedians discover Clarkson Island

Jeremy Clarkson is a lot of things to a lot of people. He's unique and iconic. Entertaining and informative. But what he's not is inimitable. That's what British sketch comedy duo Harry and Paul discovered when they stumbled upon Clarkson Island. The magical isle off the southern coast of England (and not to be confused with the Isle of Man) is inhabited exclusively by clones of the celebrity automotive journalist, who all... talk the same. We won't ruin the rest of the four-minute skit for you, except to note that the roast has to have come from a place of love, especially for co-host Harry Enfield who was the first guest on Top Gear when the BBC re-launched the show in 2001. Thanks to everyone who sent in the tip; follow the jump to watch the video.

Leave the Quattroporte alone. And, how dare you call the Miata a "girl's car". Actually, I do believe Clarkson likes the Miata.

It "is" a girl's car. (flame war started) No one over 5'7" allowed in the car. Otherwise you head will not allow the top to close.
Who cares about the insignificant Maserati Quattroporte. It's barely a blip on the time line of autos. (dual flame was started)
But that video was hilarious.

@bigMIKE Eh, I'm 5'9" and fit fine in my '90 Miata, and I have a co-worker who's 6'2" and fits fine in his '91. He actually almost never drives it with the top down. It's really all about how much of your height is legs and how much is torso.

I consider the Miata to be a "knockoff" of the old (not FWD) Lotus Elan. Say what you will about it being a "knockoff" (we all know it was a modern, more reliable copy of the classic British sports car), but I don't recall the old Lotus being considered girly.

I'm 6'6" and I tried sitting in one for grins to see what would happen. Even with the seat all the way back I could still see over the windshield better than through it, plus my legs couldn't make the angle to fit under the dash so I could touch the pedals. Maybe your 6'2" friend has a short torso and 2 sets of knees? That would make it work.
Side note: Why is it that there's not really any options for tall guys and sports cars?

That was funny at the beginning but got just a tiny bit old at the end.
How dare they call a Miata a girls car.........

I'm not so sure they were calling the Miata a girl car so much as suggesting that sort of thing is typical Clarkson (even though I am pretty sure he likes the Miata)
Stuka 9:24AM (9/26/2008)
That was truly.... amazing...
Because you see.... Unlike most skits.... This one... was about me....

The Miata is a girls car, just like the Saturn Sky. :P

So all entry level sports cars are girls cars? I see your logic perfectly... not.

Naw, the Pontiac Solstice is awesome.

Sky Red Line > Solstice GXP

Just for the record, and this is a semi-quote, Clarkson said, on Top Gear, that Mazda MX-5 is the best British sports car.

Just to elaborate more, it's the best selling roadster EVER in the world and I seriously doubt that it's women's responsibility.
Girl/Gay car issue.... MX-5 may not be fast in a straight (geddit?) line, but it's a benchmark for handling. Yes, it certainly cannot compensate for certain physiological deficiencies sending those testosterone-challenged to different showrooms. Which is a good thing - for Mazda and mankind in general.

You can't have a genuine roast without Lisa Lampanelli.
