BREAKING: Maserati GranTurismo MC Corse Concept

Maserati is a company with a deep-rooted racing heritage, and it isn't about to let that fall by the wayside. With that in mind, the Trident marque has released details of its latest competition model, called the GranTurismo MC Corse Concept.
We brought you spy shots of a stripped-out, track-bound GranTurismo earlier this month, and this looks to be the ticket. Based on the 430hp GranTurismo S, the MC Corse is destined for the tarmac. The engine has been upgraded with a new intake system, competition-spec catalytic converters and a center-exit exhaust to boost output to 450 horsepower. Grip is enhanced by an increased track along with a new front splitter, a larger rear spoiler, and more aerodynamically efficient side skirts, while the suspension has been upgraded to meet the track surface with 18x12-inch front and 18x13-inch rear wheels fitted with racing slicks. Enlarged brake discs with monobloc racing calipers help keep the power in check, along with an FIA-approved rollcage.
Following on the heels of the MC12 Corse, the GranTurismo MC Corse promises to deliver one seriously demonic ride to go with the sinister looks. While this could be the new vehicle Maserati has been hinting at, we have a feeling Modena has another trick up its rolled-up sleeve. Maserati is so much more fun to say than Ferrari.
A MC12 is on my short list of lotto winning cars and for everyday driving I would probably chose a Maserati over a Ferrari. Very nice looking car from every angle, which is rare these days.

After seeing this car on the road in person, I can completly agree with that - every angle, even when the car is in motion, is amazing. (Dare I say it's even more breathtaking than an F430 in person? lol, almost....almost)

With worldwide financial meltdown uncertainty, Americans going into foreclosure, Congress in a state of confusion and the American taxpayer left holding the bill in one hand and their d___s in the other...it is so pleasing to know that there will be NO SHORTAGE of supercars for those that made off with our money to purchase.
I can see it now. Homeless Americans being passed at 200 mph by Special edition butter-cream lether clad Veyrons, brand new Lamborghini's, R8's and Maseratis
How much? $250,000? $500,000? NO PROBLEM, the American tax payer's got my back!

Not bad looking. At least the white masks the weird roof thickness changes above the side windows.
They should have used the old Ferrari 550/575 hood scoop though. One of the all time great hoodscoops that deserves a bit more use.
But ultimately this is a handful of rich guys toys. Another car I probably will never see in real life. I am glad they exist, but they don't really make an impact on a real level.

Love the GranTurismo, but goddamn this thing is fugly, the black headlights? The big ass lower air dam that looks like it's mascara is running- ala GT-R Concept? The subtle, but totally misplaced hoodscoop? Maserati, I'm sorry but this is nasty.
However, The rear view is sexy.
Thumbs down me if you don't respect an honest opinion.

I have to agree
the rear looks like a sexy race car while the front looks completely messed up with that weird front air dam.
