Autoblogger Alex Nunez has been in a self-imposed Knight Rider cone of silence despite the series premiere being released online last week. He'll be liveblogging the episode's broadcast premiere on NBC tonight at 8PM EST right here on Autoblog, just like he did for the made-for-TV movie that aired last February, and he wants to preserve his first impressions just for you. We've also kept him in a cage during the show's entire development process, and every night we poke him with a stick while playing the Knight Rider theme song. He'll be extra ornery for the return of
UPDATE: The Liveblog for Episode 1 is here.

Huh? Wha? That's tonight?
LMBVette @ Sep 24th 2008 2:37PM
This show will suck bad....bad enough to suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. Yet, I still feel compelled to watch it.
What's wrong with me? LOL
James00 @ Sep 24th 2008 2:41PM
you guys have to be getting paid to do this or care so much about this new Knight Rider. This has *got* to be a fix because seriously, the new car is a joke. No self respecting old school Kitt fan would be into this junk fest. I wish you luck, hope the check from Universal was worth it.
Alex Nunez @ Sep 24th 2008 2:48PM
Check from Universal? For Knight Rider? Wrong blog, dude.
MemphisNET @ Sep 24th 2008 3:13PM
I'm gonna watch it - can somebody send ME a cheque as well?
It's like a train wreck...
Aki @ Sep 24th 2008 4:16PM
They cover it because people like hearing about how it sucks. 200 posts for the original liveblog shows it draws attention, so that's why they're covering it.
James00 @ Sep 24th 2008 5:01PM
No, not the wrong blog, perhaps you missed what i said. I know Jalponik gets paid for reviews etc.. i was saying that any site pushing knight Rider as hard as Auto Blog seems to be... *must* be getting paid as well. As in, it's a fix, a paid spot etc.
The show is a joke and posting positive things about it only takes credibility from Autoblog as a serious source of reviews etc from an unbiased stand point. Most North American auto magazines are paid off anyway, I didn't think Auto Blog was like this... I love Auto Blog.. but after seeing this attention for KR... ack.. what the heck. lol
Alex Nunez @ Sep 24th 2008 7:39PM
James, you need to take off the tinfoil hat. We're (meaning me) doing this because it's going to be fun. And yeah, I get paid -- but sure as hell not by NBC/Uni.
Also, your "saying positive things about it" line demonstrates you are clearly not familiar with the original liveblog...

The pilot was terrible and the car is tragic. It looks like it was influenced by funny cars, Mad Max, the Fast and the Furious, and a several shots of Jack Daniels.
Really disappointing all around.
Aki @ Sep 24th 2008 2:47PM
Dude I LOVED his first liveblog account of the series.
Saw the first 8 minutes, got disgusted, then figured I'll just get the stinging recap from Alex Nunez instead.
Tell Alex that he'll feel miserable for this one too, haha. Schadenfreude never felt so good...

You can see this horrible premiere episode on hulu.com right now if you dare to see just how bad it is. I can't believe they wasted so much money on this show. Everything is bad about it, hell even the car is boring and plain. The beauty of the old Kit was that he was kind of a prick and up beat. Val sounds dead as all get out.

I hate the show, the car and the suckfest of horror that is called 'Super Pursuit Mode'...
*barfs*

Oh, and I was up in Fort McMurray, Alberta during the pilot - and the LiveBlog was one of the few joys I had on an exceptionally cold night (-47 celcius). So I for one am glad there is going to be another one. What was the final post count? Over 200 for sure.
MajorGeek @ Sep 24th 2008 3:19PM
Web episode was bad, anyone watching it on TV and having to also sit through commercials.... Bummer.
Randy @ Sep 24th 2008 3:52PM
You could actually tell the difference between the show and the commercials?
And I bow!
tankd0g @ Sep 24th 2008 3:19PM
How many times is this mother f**cker going to premier?
pedantic @ Sep 24th 2008 3:26PM
The new attack mode is such a joke. Who thought this was a good idea? Apparently someone who still plays with hotwheels. The attack mode in the movie wasn't very good either, but the new one is hideous.
Senor360 @ Sep 24th 2008 3:55PM
I saw it over the weekend thanks to FiOS video on demand. It was a great disappointment and I'm truly sad they went in the direction they went. The 'perky/ditzy' Asian chick and nerd boy 'hacker' were extra painful to watch. Watch it, absorb it, go through therapy, and just forget the rest of the season.
Alex @ Sep 24th 2008 3:55PM
Godspeed, Alex Nunez, godspeed.
