Behold! 2010 Ford Mustang thrones revealed

The 2010 Ford Mustang teasers continue, with a darkened shot of the new 'Stang's seats and center console. The new thrones look mighty inviting, with a nice amount of padding and some American-friendly bolsters. The center console appears to be a little taller than the current Mustang, but we'll have to wait until we get a chance to sit inside at this year's LA Auto Show.

With all the teasing it better be the mother of all mustangs but somehow I doubt that.

nope, same non supportive buckets that we've had to deal with for the last two decades. I mean seriously, why can't american cars design seats that really hold you in the seat like german and japanese counterparts. I understand they're catering to a larger market compared to japanese cars especially...but jesus, a seat w/ no kidney and lateral supports at all is kinda tough to deal w/ when you're having some spirited driving.

Are you kidding? They look like they were pulled out of a 1972 Mach I.

Doesn't look like much has changed, but its not like it needs it. The Mustang is a pretty cool car for what it is supposed to be.

People seem to be quick to criticize the 2010 Stang for not changing enough to compete with the Challenger and Camaro. What they fail to realize is that the Mustang is already 5 years ahead in this "retro battle". The 2010 is an evolution, 5 years ahead of the game. Not much needs to change for it to be on top. It will still be number one, no question.
As for the seats, they're alright. But I could care less what they look like.. it's all about comfort in my opinion.
What I couldn't help but notice was the new console. It just looks .. idk .. it looks cool, I guess.

I dunno, man.
I rented a convertible 'stang 2 years ago. It was an uninspired, plasticy bore of a fleet car interior. There's little nice to say about the interior other than it was much better than a Cobalt. Which isn't saying much.
This looks like a bit of an improvement...

@ Rev: "I rented a convertible 'stang 2 years ago." There is your answer.

Chase, Rev,
Apparently they've changed alot in reaction to experience w/ the cheap current interior. Here's some links I found to the designer's comments- no more plastic instrument panels.....

I have to admit, I'm getting kind of tired of these posts. It just seems like a "LOOK AT ME!!!!" ploy by Ford to reveal bits and pieces of what seems to be just a cosmetic redesign. Is the next photo going to be of the door sills or maybe a trunk hinge?

My vote for the next shot is it will be the glove compartment or inside door handle, because that will get our blood pumping.
/sarcasm.

Then don't bother opening, reading, or answering Mustang posts.
Problem solved.
Wasn't that simple?
Don't you feel stupid now?

Hmmm... let me check. Nope.

Good god...you could slide out the window with those things. Ford must think the average Mustang buyer is too fat for bolsters.

Nice look to those seats, they remind me of the ones in my '66. The black color hides the side bolsters somewhat.

Yes, Ford is guilty of "Hey look at me" pre-marketing for this freshened Mustang. They have had the luxury of being only traditional "muscle car" on the market for quite a while but they are now facing not one but two hot new competitors.
The marketing department would not be doing their job if they did not do SOMETHING to try to get the Mustang some press. They are just working with with they have been given by the engineers and management.
Soon enough the shoe will be on the other foot as the then few year old Challenger and Camaro must compete against an all new Mustang.

Ha ha ha, WOW!!!
"I hate all these Mustang teaser pics but I'm going to look at them anyways and then comment about how much I hate them!"
I think its been said, maybe not but this is not a redesign but a freshening. So don't expect a major change because there isn't supposed to be one.

Someone on The Mustang Source spliced last week's and this week's image together. Looks very high quality and dare I say, sexy:

Damn, that looks good. Can't wait to pick mine up in 2010 when the new motors drop.

There is nothing significant about this new mustang -- why all the hype? It's a nip/tuck job, not a ground-breaking new design. It's a stop gap move by Ford to keep sales afloat until they figure out what to do next. There's only so many things you can do to make a mustang look like a mustang. Maybe next they'll do a retro designl of the old 80s "Fox" chassis. What do you think?
