Get ready to vent: Lorinser kits the new SL

With the arrival of the new Mercedes-Benz SL, it's time for all the usual suspects to update their body and tuning packages accordingly. Observers familiar with Lorinser's stuff know what to expect here, and in typical fashion, there's enough mesh grillework to allow for every conceivable cooling need, real or imagined. A large vertical vent replaces the "gills" that are standard on the current SL's front fender. There's also an opening in the side skirts ahead of the rear wheel, and a wide grille spanning the area between the exhausts, too. The whole affair sits on a lowered suspension, and big Lorinser alloys fill up the wheel wells. Power upgrades aren't ready yet, so for the time being, the kit's an all-show, same-go proposition. Image-conscious buyers will want to keep their original tri-star grille emblem handy, as that much plainer Lorinder badge isn't going to impress the neighbors nearly as much.

I'd at least like to see more paint matching going on. Though it might be because of the 50" Samsung I have this connected to blowing th contrast of the two way out of proportion, I suspect it maybe a bollocksed paint job. Either way, I wouldn't buy it. I'll take a stock SL65, thank you.

the sideskirts look cheap and the whole new huge badge thing, even when MB or not is a little too p.diddy for my taste. I wonder if you can order the black series without badges?! Brabus probably would I guess.

It is a matter of preference, of course, but I find the original SL to be more complete and subtle in terms of its design. This kit reminds me of an upscale version of those half-a$$ed bumpers that local garages put on teenager's Hondas. The indent is to make it more sophisticated, but the result is a mutilated car that is inferior looking to the stock version.

The worst parts are the rims, and the vent in front of the rear tire.
The rest is fine, but not as good as a stock SL!

This kit looks like those $500 body kits you see for sale in the back of Superstreet or Import Tuner....Tacked on, plastic pieces with "vents" and "air ducts" everywhere on it that ends up making the car look deformed and ridiculous.
Its just a shame it happens to be an otherwise nice car......

Lose the side skirts and it'll look 100x better. The front and rear bumpers aren't actually all that bad. The fender is a toss up but the side skirts make the whole kit look like crap

Where have Kleemann and Brabus gone? And why are we left with some half-assed and atrocious designs with no performance gains? WTF is going on here?
They ("tuning companies") ruined the Bentley GTC. They ruined our Range Rovers, they ruined our Jaguars. Leave the poor SL alone!
