Lebanon's first supercar, the Frem F1, coming to Detroit Auto Show

The desire to take on Ferrari has birthed at least one iconic car (GT40) and launched an entire brand (Lamborghini), and for David Frem, a 25-year-old Lebanese design student, the ambition to chase after Italy's prancing horse has created this: the Frem F1.
After three years of design and fabrication, Frem has created the F1 prototype as a steppingstone to the production version, aptly titled the F2, which is slated to appear at the Detroit Auto Show this January.
The F1 is currently powered by a Volkswagen-sourced 2.0-liter four-pot and mated to an Audi gearbox (DSG?), good for a claimed top speed of 124 mph -- assuming it doesn't undress itself in the process. But if the world's first Lebanese supercar has any chance of catching up to Italy's finest, it had better be packing twice as many cylinders and a bit more refinement.
Needless to say, the styling and build quality leaves a lot to be desired. The front end might bare a striking resemblance to Frem's targeted marque, but the massive upright schnoz and gaping air intakes won't lend themselves well to European pedestrian impact standards. And if you think the exterior is bad, the foam and wood interior, complete with offset steering wheel held in place by a bent metal bracket, is even worse.
If Frem hopes to have a show-worthy car ready by January, he's going to need a lot more than just a massive wing and a prayer.

i don't know where to even begin on what's wrong with this car... so i wont.
instead i'll congratulate this guy for actually creating a car that plans to even stand next to a ferrari. To all the criticizers--- Let he who designed a supercar at age 25 cast the first stone.

Umm, Mr. David Frem please go back to design school and finish/graduate then come back and re-design that monstrosity you call the Frem F1.. I am not a design student and I tell you right now that Snout on the front of the car is not aerodynamically sound for a vehicle labeled as a SUPERCAR.

Not only does it have a nose, it has eyebags!
And... you could tell that this was done with little funding... the windscreen, windows, and headlight covers aren't even curved.
Meanwhile, what's the point of having so many holes when there is nothing that really needs cooling? Or is it to save material?

Whether we like it or not, you've got to give this kid credit for single handedly designing and building a car from scratch ! He worked from age 22 to 25.
This proves he has a high will power and 'makes things happen'. The guy has potential.

Give this guy some slack, Lebanon as a country has never produced a car from the bottom up, this is a first for the country, its an achievment to have built something in the first place, perfection comes later...

To tell you the truth , for all those who made bad comments on the car , i bet that the guy is thanking you now for they give him more perseverance in getting to his goal.
In addition if you think that the guy is challenging ferrari or lamborghini by the frem let me clear things for you , David goal is not to challenge his idols but to walk their steps, in LEBANON.
And the only problem for you is not the car , i believe it is the fact that a 25 year old LEBANESE guy was capable of doing the first step alone when you guys maybe living boring lives doing nothing but critisizing people just to feel better yourselves.
