Chevy Camaro SS unveiled at Indy Bash 2008

The crew from Camaro5 were on hand to capture the first live unveiling of the Chevrolet Camaro SS at Indy Bash 2008, and although we've seen the silver-hued coupe on numerous occasions, this is the first time we've gotten a glimpse inside.
As you're undoubtedly already aware, the Camaro SS is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 putting out 422 hp and 408 lb.-ft. of torque, and in this case power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The most striking element of the SS' interior is the shiny plastic door panels and dash trim that matches the two-tone black and leather seats, with contrast stitching. It's very racy, and should tie in nicely with the SS badges fore and aft.
We'll be able to see the Camaro SS up close at the Paris Motor Show next month, so stay tuned for our impressions from the floor.

It's been a long time, but this car was well worth the wait. I can't wait to get one. (Just not in "me too" silver)

# 1 in what? Official introductions ?!?!?
Russell 5:19PM (9/19/2008)
#1 in pony cars, but if you have to ask STFU.

So #1 in low-priced, low power versions of the car? I believe you meant to say muscle cars. On both accounts, you are wrong.
How can the Camaro be #1 when it was killed off only to be revived due to the Mustang? You STFU, dumba$$.

The interior is disgusting. It's like they went to pep-boys and copied some "riced" out civic. What is with all the automakers pushing automatics? I guess the baby boomers are in their golden years. .

Yes we do. Camaro= hard plastic, Mustang= soft touch, real aluminum trim
Mustang Interior > Camaro Interior
Russell 5:18PM (9/19/2008)
Have you sat in any of them? STFU

"Mustang= soft touch, real aluminum trim"
Soft touch Aluminum?
chopper 2:18AM (9/20/2008)
Soft touch? Try plastic everywhere.
Real aluminum trim? Looks like specs of chrome plastic to me.
Like the guy above said... unless you sat in either... which you havent.... STFU.
anonimo 9:00AM (9/21/2008)
I have sat in both, actually. Also in the Challenger.
I live in metro Detroit and have neighbors which have brought home both the Camaro and the peanut-taped Mustang from work.
The Mustang is soft-touch foam dash w/ real aluminum panels ( to be fair, today's Mustang also have real aluminum trim as an option ) It is very very nice.
The Camaro is hard plastic dash w/ painted plastic panels made to look like metal. Looks cheap.
The Challenger is soft-touch, but looks like crap.
You STFU.

You will get your wish......

The V6 Mustang is five grand cheaper. 25K will buy you a V8 @ Ford.
Russell 5:21PM (9/19/2008)
I'd pay 10K not to be in Ford.
