Jack White, one half of the Whites in the White Stripes, wrote and produced the new theme song for Quantum of Solace, sung by White and Alicia Keyes. Turns out that White also -- unwittingly and unhappily -- wrote the new theme song for Coke Zero. Coca-Cola has used an instrumental version of "Another Way to Die," as well as a couple of Astons, to promote its diet drink that tastes like a diet drink even though they say it doesn't. In our opinion, the commercial gets a resounding "meh," but the song is thoroughly groovy. Follow the jump to check it out. Thanks for the tip, Marcus!

Andrew L @ Sep 17th 2008 8:52PM
Wrong You Know my Name was for Casino Royale... Quantum of Solace is going to get its own theme
Artie Lange @ Sep 17th 2008 10:26PM
Uh, yeah, I know - that was the point...
Swede @ Sep 18th 2008 12:25PM
You know my name is the best bond theme ever

Zero Taste
innoc3nt @ Sep 17th 2008 10:48PM
Have you ever tried it, man? Coke Zero tastes almost like Original Coke, MUCH closer than Diet Coke.
Yaroukh @ Sep 18th 2008 4:40AM
Ofcourse I did, otherwise i wouldnt comment.
Compared to original cola it still tastes like *&^% (which I haven't tasted ofcourse :) ... I can't tell a difference between Zero and Light. (I wouldn't be surprised too much if the recipe would be 100pct identical.)
As far as I know colas for US are sweeter then the ones sold in Europe, so your Zero might differ from the one sold in Europe.

That actually wasn't a bad ad.
All it made me do was crave the Aston, though :(. This ad should be rebranded.

Honestly... how's this Autoblog news? Because it's a tie-in to a movie with cars? Seriously?
This isn't worth the pixels on my RSS feed.

Coke Zero doesn't taste like diet Coke, it taste like normal Coke! It's good. Cherry Coke Zero is even better.
eb110americana @ Sep 17th 2008 8:29PM
I still think it's ridiculous that a beverage company has the kind of cash sloshing around to fund things like this. It's carbonated sugar water ferchristsakes! Yet they own chains of restaurants and spend more than anyone on advertising.
The joke's on them though. After all that competition, when you hear, "We don't have Coke, is Pepsi okay?"
"Yeah, whatever's fine."
dantzig @ Sep 17th 2008 10:02PM
Not from georgia, then? "Is Pepsi okay?" --> "I'll just have water."
jordan @ Sep 18th 2008 7:41AM
"Is Pepsi okay?"
Give me Mt. Dew then! :D
Jaime Haber @ Sep 17th 2008 9:02PM
The last 007 trailer we saw made us sad, because it said the movie had been pushed from 11/7/08 to 11/14/08. This clip now says it will be in theaters 10/31/08. Is that for real? Cuz that'd be swell.
Westside T.O. @ Sep 18th 2008 12:35AM
No, that's the UK release date. In North America it will be Nov 14.
kanye001 @ Sep 18th 2008 7:34PM
yeah I almost flipped when I seen that release date, but then I remembered it came out in the UK first.
Ted Krygier @ Sep 18th 2008 2:05AM
Coke Zero is crap!
Its 97% water! So, you pay for 3% Coke.
If I wanted diluted Coca Cola, I could put a drop of coke in a cup of water.
Marketers win big with this crap.
jordan @ Sep 18th 2008 7:42AM
If Coke Zero is 97% water, wouldn't regular Coke be like MAYBE 96% water?
I think most any drink is high 90's% water, heh...
Torrent @ Sep 18th 2008 2:34AM
All that for 2 liters of Water-Flavored Soda?
typhoon5000 @ Sep 18th 2008 6:31AM
Best coke commercial ever just because of the pair of DBS'. Otherwise I could care less about coke zero. The only pop I drink is Dr. Pepper.
