Just in from Lamborghini, a very nebulous pre-release that reads only:

"It's not just a new Lamborghini. It's a new world."

The above photo accompanies it, showing only a center-exit exhaust, some rear grillework, and a carbon fiber diffuser. And that's it. Commence guessing in the comments below. Lambo's letting the cat out of the bag on October 1st, and we're as curious as everyone else right now.

Audi wont let them build an SUV and why would they! The last one was'nt very successful. I'm guessing last hoorah for the Murcielago, maybe SV or Superleggera version??

      1. I really hope it's a completely new model
      2. I really hope it's not a hybrid

I want a completely new model with a V12 and a vicious growl and extreme styling that makes you feel like a kid again.

new world? don't tell me Lamborghini is making a $250 000 sedan..
Im gonna go with a new small atom/xbow/elise type vehicle. The future of sports cars are smaller lighterweight iterations. Expect a healthy dose of alacantara and high class alloys to keep the price in lambo territory.

Yeah, except the Lambo's italian and will break down on the first corner. Maserati is the only manufacturer that has become reliable over the years, Ferrari to to a degree with the new 599 and 430. But...dare I say, Lambo's still kinda suck. Their electronics at least.

        In reply to Asher.

What are you on about? Lamborghini are owned by Audi and are said to have very good reliability now, compared to a few years ago, with Audi ironing out quality issues.

Oh, and I cannot wait at all to see this motor, it should be the dog's bollocks.

It may be an SUV, but Lambo made a big deal of the Gallardo being cleaner than the pre-LP one, and so i think that's gonna rule that out (though i'd love to see one).

I'd say a 4seater. Espada maybe? A saloon would be nice, and a good choice i believe.

Graphic break-up is reminicent of the Muira concept a few years ago.

We will have to see. I know I am curious.

      A Lambo popemobile!
It is a Reventon Sedan which is just a rebodied A8L with a negligible horsepower bump. The body will be all CF, but the car will mysteriously weigh 300 pounds more than the A8. It will cost $2million U.S. and only 40 will be produced.

I can only see two things that might live up to the New World proclamation:
1 - Hybrid (or even all electric)
      2 - The long-awaited flying car
I second the Hybrid guess. Lambo has been talking about a future Hybrid, and the Quaranta concept by Giugiaro also has a decidedly Merciellago (also Italdesign) inspired profile.

Whatever it is, I want it!

Does anyone remember the Embolado Concept?

      That would be awesome...
I bet its a new Murcielago, but if it was a sedan, wow, that would be even better!
      New world? ELECTRIC CAR.

It's only a matter of time until supercars must go mainstream electric.

Lighter, just as fast, and way less complicated.
I somehow doubt its going to be an electric car. The massive exhausts kinda give it away
        • 7 Years Ago
Electric cars aren't necessarily lighter for the same power output and distance capability. They still have to haul around all the batteries that go with the electric motor.
Isn't the Murcielago replacement due really soon? I thought the LP640 was only a stop gap for 1 - 2 years until the replacement came out.

Winklemann has confirmed No SUV a million times, I doubt its that. Possibly a sedan, but I doubt that too. And a hybrid or electric car sounds silly from a company that is known for its excessive-ness.
I don't think it the Murcielago... two reasons... you can see the rear tires, which are not far enough apart. the Murcielago has a wider stance then a Expedition. But mainly, that exhaust is not nearly aggressive enough to be their flagship. Look at the LP640's pipes and you'll understand what I mean.
