VIDEO: Short documentary on Glickenhaus' Ferrari P4/5

Much has been written about the one-off Ferrari created by Pininfarina for wealthy car collector James Glickenhaus. Named the P4/5 after the famous Ferrari racing machines from the 1960s, this Enzo-based bespoke supercar is a modern day legend not just because it's gorgeous, rare and powerful, but also because Glickenhaus believes it should be driven. He doesn't just show it at parties attended by the rich and famous, he drives it up the hill at Goodwood. Rumor has it the P4/5 already has 6,000 miles on the odo. Glickenhaus is, therefore, our kind of man, so we were very much interested in this new video vignette that popped up on him and his car.
It's produced by Brad Farrell, owner and operator of Kilnjox Media, who hopes to make more short documentaries on various car nuts in the Northeast who "get it" like Glickenhaus does. This one's the first and if reaction to it is positive enough, more will come with a possible cable series in the works. Check out the video after the jump and let us know your reaction in the comments.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the beauty in this design? Everyone always refers to it as superb, or gorgeous.
I for one think it is hideous from the front 180 degrees. And I have felt that way since day 1.
It looks quite functional, but not beautiful.

You're not alone, I personally think it looks quite bad. The only part I like is the glass... Excluding the optics, that is. Bah.

I agree this is the ugliest supercar i think i have ever seen. It looks like a college design project. It is the only supercar i have seen that looks like is was designed around a huge ass windshied wiper. I mean seriously look at that thing. Its all i can see when i look at this car.

tha is a really beautiful car. i would be willing to bet that as an inderect side-effect that car has more downforce then a regular enzo.
First.

It looks horrendous. Unfortunately, just like everything Ferrari has churned out recently. :(

While I do not find this design unattractive, I also think that is beside the point. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Ten observers will give six different opinions on anything artistic. Where I feel this design might be more accurately judged is whether it meets the original goal: does it recall the P3/P4 racers of yore? For me, the answer is "kinda." A middling success aesthetically, and a partial success on the design target.

Too bad the Corvette is Mass-Produced and has bearable looks.

Wait, I just watched the whole thing.
"I think all things begin in the past".
Thanks, Captain Obvious.
"While the people on Ferrarichat believed it was happening, I don't think the rest of the world believed it was happening".
No, the rest of the world just didn't care.

so you'd rather look at a lamborghini or a ferrari than drive it?

I think this is a great car and the owner is a top guy who will respond to anyone, well atleast to me on a lambo forum. One thing I found very cool, was that since its his car, he can decide if it can be recreated, Well some rich oil barons in the middle east wanted to do that, but he said no. And he could have got money if his car has been reproduced too.
Anyhow I believe the car does have better performance and down force than the Enzo, so that is definitely saying something.
Amien : though I do agree with you , most past Ferrari's have been lacking, the new 430 is not as bad as the first gorilla nose one. However, the P4/5 I wouldnt really include in that inducement.
To Tblack : I recall reading that he actually wanted it just to be a replica of one of those cars, but the designers talked him out of it and convinced him that making a new car was the best route.

I agree that the front end looks very strange. Kind of looks like something from a cheap car kit. Placement of the side mirrors...ugh, bad. Back end has a geat aggressive look. The overall design is very un-pininfarina....
