VIDEO: 10-second Lamborghini Gallardo

Lamborghini surely didn't intend for the Gallardo to be used as a 1/4-mile racer, but that doesn't mean we don't like to see an owner put his car to the test. Add a set of twin-turbos and we're really interested. This particular Gallardo was built by Underground Racing in Charlotte, NC, and despite a fairly slow launch runs an impressive 10.2 at 155 mph. Judging by the mph, this Gallardo is capable of running well into the 9's. Even more impressive is that the car has a six-speed transmission rather than Lamborghini's e-gear that would surely cut down the time as well. Follow the jump to watch the video.

I don't think anyone wealthy enough to own a twin turbo Lamborghini is too concerned about the general well being of his equipment or tires.

That's silly. People with Evos, DSMs, VR-4s, WRXs, and Skylines built for drag racing launch AWDs hard all the time to get good times. Chasing time slips is hard on your equipment and requires a big wallet to be the best regardless of what car it is or what drivetrain it had. Its just that much more for a Lambo. Maybe he doesn't want to tear it up right away. Even if you do have a lot of money, it probably takes a long time ot get a Lambo fixed which is maybe why he doesn't launch hard.

Even i'm impressed, and that's not easy to do.
I was also under the impression that anything 150mph+ requires a parachute at the strip.

not impressed simply because this "10 second" car has "1,026rwhp." this thing should be in the 9's pushing for 8's. Also a Mk4 supra with 1000hp and stock weight should be mid 9's 10's at the highest with slicks. someone can correct me on that

No, you pretty much got it right. Supras launch hard though... 9 second Supras will pull wheelies out of the gate on slicks. This thing walked off the line. The power is definitely there... 155mph going through the traps is seriously fast.

correct me if i'm wrong, but that particular Gallardo had the manual transmission, which, frankly, is a bitch to run through the gates.
Give it an E-gear and a drag driver (not dissing the driver by any means) and some slicks and you'll see those times.

It's not a Chevy Nova- it's designed to go 150+. I am sure stock brakes are good for that speed, but a 'chute wouldn't be a bad idea.

I Hate The Gallardo I love the Murcielago But... anyways this car was made by Underground Racing they are very well know for there 1000hp. Vipers... that run low high 7s low 8s with that said i agree this Gallardo should be doing high 8s low 9s considering thats It's been converted to RWD i know Underground Racing and idk what they were thinking when they made this car...
