Rain + Porsches - Traction = Entertainment
Remember those pseudo-scientific experiments you did as a child after school or on summer break? Well of course you didn't do them...you were a good kid. But there was always some mischievous child in the neighborhood who would.
Well those kids have grown up. (Technically, anyway.) And now they race in the Porsche Supercup series, where they wonder what would happen if you put a couple dozen race-tuned, rear-engined 911s on a rain-soaked grand prix track and told their drivers that there's a prize waiting for them at the finish line. Follow the jump to see what happened.

Seriously lame. I was expecting mayhem. This fails the "screwing off on Friday afternoon" test.

Ya, I'm pretty disappointed. Even the F1 race had more no-traction-mayhem than this one.

I'm assuming the top 5 were all relegated to 20th place and back following a 25 second penalty?

No 25 second penalties here. There weren't any Ferraris in the race...

Seems you're *a bit* jealous it's not Ford International Assistance anymore (Cosworth...).
Personally, I'm not a fan of F1 - nor Ferrari's, anymore.

WTF? Which path were they supposed to take?

Most of the loss of traction seemed to be under braking. Not much to do with them being Porshes or rear-engined. If they had all spun like tops in that first high speed chicane, then I'd say the weight distribution had something to do with it. I'm not much of a Porsche racing fan, but that last 360-spinning save was pretty amazing, and that in-car video scared the Mobil 1 out of me.

Although that bouncing front end might have something to do with the tires locking up. The amount of input he was putting on the wheel just to go down the straight was pretty funny as well.

hahaha o man, that turn at about 0:45 where 5 of them go off is about the funniest thing I've seen all week.

Porsche Supercup has always been lame. Bunch of rich boys trying to get attention on a GP weekend.
You should see the ego, the agression and the attitude that these boys have..... alongwith little talent.
The fact that the cars have poor weight balance and handling -and this often leads to "incidents"- is the only solace.

I doubt you can match that against it's racing History...
Probably more to do with the drivers than the car itself.
