We've just gotten confirmation that Infiniti will equip its European FX series crossover with the 330 hp, 3.7-liter V6 (VQ37VHR) and it's slated to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
Infiniti has decided to only offer the 3.7-liter V6 on its range of vehicles abroad, and there are no plans to bring the FX37 Stateside.
Infiniti's crossover will be available in both FX37 GT and FX37S versions, with 0-60 times in the 6.8-second range and a top speed of 145 mph. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloys, Scratch Shield paint, all-wheel-drive, xenon headlamps and a seven-speed automatic gearbox controlled via steering wheel-mounted paddles. The FX37S comes equipped with 21-inch wheels, sports seats and Continuous Damping Control.

see, this is fine. what sucks is when a hot Euro hatch or coupe doesn't come to the US, because that's something that will actually sell. SUVs are clearly not going to sell well anymore (at least for a good while) so this isn't really a big deal. If they were to say they weren't bringing the G37 Sedan, for example, THAT would be stupid (ala VW w/ the Sirocco).

And if they are going to offer an SUV, it needs to be fully capable off road and be able to compete with the likes of the Land Rover.
What is it with SUVs that can't climb a tiny muddy hill.

I wonder who will buy one at all.

0%?
But you care enough to post that you don't care. Why don't you post on topics you care about at least 1%.

Maybe he cared .478% and rounded down?

It's hardly needed, by any means.
However the FX37 would sell here.
I always liked the FX Infiniti's and this one seems like a serious FX. I would prefer this FX to the V8.

330 hp = Welcome to the insane club. Help the auto industry destroy the world, and you're personal wealth, with this stupid machine.
When the Methane Bomb goes off ExxonMobile, BP and Nissan stock will be trading at zero, get it?

What?
I think you need drug counseling.

Amazing how little logic there can be in just one post.

What the corporate( oil ) controlled media won't tell you:

Guys, do your research, if this methane store gets released you're not going to be able to enjoy a Mini much less a 330 hp anything. Dreaming of 330 hp is a delusion.

I agree, it's ugly. But it doesn't make sense to me. These things all roll off the same assembly line, so wouldn't it cost less overall for the manufacturer to stick with one V6 engine choice for the world rather than two options (3.5 and 3.7) in addition to the V8?
Differentiation is cool and all, but it has to raise costs.

Fully agreed.
Don't care much about the FX... but why the engine difference?
Why not have infiniti and the Nissan Z by extension, use the 3.7 VVEL engine, or the 5.0 VVEL V8 engine.
Are they keeping the longitudinal 3.5 and 4.5 liter engines around for some special reason, just to add complexity?
Car companies cut colors and feature configurability to save costs, but then seem not to do the same thing with engines, in this case.
G37 coupe, convertible and sedan, 370Z sports car.
G50 special edition (like M3/AMG) coupe, convertible, and sedan.
EX37 crossover.
M37 and M50 large sedans.
FX37 and FX50 large crossovers
Why is that such a hard thing?
Then if they want to be REALLY cool...
Build a sleek mid-engined sports car, similar to R8. 5.0 VVEL V8 and GT-R's automated dual-clutch transaxle, and a front diff for AWD. Use a dash of G35 coupe's sharp styling, but lower and wider. They could start that design process today, and probably still beat the NSX replacement, or a toyota/lexus LF-A-like sports car to market. That and the GT-R would be the only japanese high end sports cars, and there are no asian-market supercars.

I completely agree. It would make more sense to simply use the 3.7 L V6 for all V6s across the Infiniti lineup.
Thankfully, we ARE getting the G37 sedan (how about an M37 while they're at it?).

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Screw it, just get the FX50 and be done with it. It's not like it gets THAT MUCH worse MPG...

Hmmm, an SUV trying more and more to be like a wagon. Just make a damn Infiniti sportwagon Nissan.
