Pics Aplenty: 2010 Chevy Camaro SS

Click above for high-res gallery of the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS
Here we go again. Late last month we brought you a bevy of beautiful 2010 Chevy Camaro SS shots, and today General Motors has released a big batch of its own. These new images include studio shots of the 422-hp Camaro SS from various angles, as well as a few detail shots of the front and rear ends. Eh, it was about time for a new desktop wallpaper anyway.

You mean you didn't have "pics aplenty" before?

No kidding. It's too bad I've yet to see one of these on the road and I'm already sick of seeing it. It's a cool car, but AB is on Camaro/Mustang overload lately.
With regards to the SS, it's certainly the go-fast option, but I think the base Camaro is going to be the coolest in the lineup. With such a strong V6, I'm thinking the saved bucks could be put into tuning the suspension for a fun corner-carver.

sick, what's the performance going to be like? 4.5s 0-60?

4.6 for the SS (I think) and low 6's for the V6, but I heard GM is shooting for 5.9 for the V6.

I want one in black with tinted windows.
GM did a great job with this. Great styling, the right engine. It'll do well.

What happened to the projector HID lights?

I believe that's part of the RS appearance package
Ben Hayat 12:48PM (9/11/2008)
Wally, do you think we can order the RS package with SS Model?
Wally 1:15PM (9/11/2008)
Yeah, pretty sure it's an option you can choose with the SS package.

God help me, I think I want the DI V6.

HID lights are offered with the RS option. What you see is the base SS without it.
I love the car but I'd like to see it some other color than silver. Black, orange, blue or white.
It also bothers me that the bowtie isn't blue (the change to gold was never warranted and a change for the worst) and that the SS doesn't have actually SS badging with the engine displacement in CID or litres in place of the bowtie.
I'd also like to see it wearing stripes. Like the Challenger and Mustang it looks slightly naked without them.

So many frickin color choices, it's hard to choose.

The car isn't supposed to hit the street for another year and I've been sick of it since just after Transformers came out on DVD.
What's with GM parading out "production vehicles" or "production-based vehicles" years before they actually hit the market? Any excitement they build is replaced by loathing since GM wants to beat the images in your head, despite the fact that you can't own one yet.

SS can be ordered with the RS appearance package but it will only be available in midnight silver.
Also, Mr. Red, the Camaro will be out in March which, by my calculations (and use of a very ancient tool called a calendar,) it will be available in 6 months. Countdown is on.

are these mazda RX-8 wheels?

Well Mazda isn't using them anymore (2009+ have rotary-inspired spoked wheels) so why not?

I have to admit all these pictures now will make the car feel a bit dated by the time it comes out. But it is a beautiful sexy car! I am still not tired of looking at them, just longing to see one in person driving down the road!

I just don't like it. It could have been very nice but it's too high and narrow and looks like a plastic shell on a frame rather than a body of a car.
I can't wait until the baby boomers pass on and we can get away from these retro cars.
