Euro patent drawings reveal production Suzuki Kizashi

The European patent office has revealed a few outline drawings of the upcoming Suzuki Kizashi mid-sizer that the Japanese automaker, more often associated with high-performance motorcycles, hopes will compete head-on with the best in the world. The Kizashi could be a make-it or break-it type vehicle for Suzuki, which sells huge numbers of very small cars in Japan but has only a small foothold in the United States. These drawings seem to indicate that the Kizashi will keep some of its styling cues intact, though it also looks as if it could be mistaken for a Chevy Malibu from some angles.
When Suzuki releases the Kizashi to the general public, which some speculate could be as early as the Paris Motor Show next month, it will be equipped with both four-cylinder and V6 engine options with up to 300 horsepower and all-wheel-drive. Specs like that ought to strike some fear into the established players if Suzuki is able to keep the price down. Stay tuned.

It's so high up. Are you Sure it's not a Grand Vitara sedan?

really? you are going to pick apart the ride height on patent drawings? wow.
bilbo baggins 11:47AM (9/11/2008)
Compared to the concept this one's definitely much higher.

um... that's because it is a drawing fit for a child's coloring book.

Yeah, I am going to pick it apart based on Patent drawings, because the Drawings mean that's what the car's going to look like- and the drawing tells me it's a sedan fit to go offroad.

I was thrilled about the Kizashi concept i saw at the NY auto show earlier this year. I thought it was gorgeous and amazing looking. Based on these drawings, its now been reduced to a typical japanese Camcordroltima with a little Jetta thrown in for good measure. Sure i guess once we see the sheetmetal it could change, but this really looks like its going to be bland, boring, and for some reason, SMALL.

Ditto on the boringness.

Right there with you! I was very excited that Zuk was finally putting some of that sportbike styling in their boring lineup. After seeing the spy shots and this drawing, I guess it's another missed mark.

I realize it's just a patent, but this "looks" small compared to either Accord or Camry. When I was looking at the spy pics, it looks similar in size to the Mazda6, which I admit, I have not yet seen in person yet, but "looks" small in pictures. Perhaps it's because of the rounded contours?

Isn't that the generic car picture that is found in every owner's manual?

Fairly attractive sedan. It's got nice clean lines. I like the shape of the headlights and taillights.

Oh no, what happened?
This looks like an updated GM/Daewoo sedan known under many names like Optra, Lacetti, etc.
How sad, I was hoping for somthing amazing but what we're getting is sort of an Opel sedan looking car. Which is not bad, but not amazing.
