MINI has a new commercial for the Clubman that looks like a teaser for a new Tim Burton film -- all it's missing is Johnny Depp. Detailing the arcane goings on at a funeral for a fly, we aren't sure how the commercial is supposed to make humans want to buy the car, but that's why ad guys get paid the big dollars and we don't. However, we do have to admit that the three-swatter salute was a nice touch. Follow the jump to watch the vid, and you can judge the... impact... for yourself. Thanks for the tip, Andreas!

hahaha, i quite liked the commercial. i watched it a few times actually--the fly swatters "kill" me (haha)--and though it doesn't make me want to buy a clubman directly, i think somehow subconsciously it does make me *feel* better about the clubman. like, the next time i see a clubman i'll likely smile via association with this commercial, and over time if they can accumulate such positive associations, get some momentum going, it could very well translate into more sales.

I liked it. And I'd rather the Clubman over the normal Mini. Yeah, I'm weird like that.

Eh... you see about 4 seconds of the car and the flies are kind of annoying.

Interesting idea... just not feeling it.

I'd still totally buy a Mini though.
