Wald International preparing Nissan GT-R kit

Wald International has never been one to offer subtle styling. Whether it's the Lexus IS-F or the Mercedes-Benz CL, the Japanese tuner loves to create a bold look with vents, wings and wheels. The tuner recently turned its attention to the Nissan GT-R, and while we don't have official information on the car, the photos offer a good look at what the package will include. A vented front fascia and splitter, side skirts, rear fender flares, a rear diffuser, carbon fiber rear spoiler and 22-inch wheels all lend to the more aggressive look. We actually like the majority of the body kit, although we'd prefer the rear fender flares to be the same color as the body, and the larger wheels probably don't do much for the performance of the car. In the end, though, we'd probably spend our hard earned money on some of the Club Sport components from NISMO. Thanks for the tip, James!

Wow, and I was one to think that aftermarket body kits were meant to IMPROVE the aerodynamic performance of the car.

Alas, aftermarket body kits are to personalize a car... not provide a more aerodynamic body.
and the GTR screams for the rice tuner mentality of aftermarket kits.

Some aftermarket kits do improve aerodynamics. C-West tests their products. This kit probably not so much.

Wald makes some badass aftermarket kits. I like the Wald GT-R, everything except the rear fenders.

Their VIP styling kits were nice, but Wald just keeps going downhill.

Some elements of this kit don't look to bad. Having now seen one in person I must say it needs something. Man I was blown away by how big this car is in person. It's a tank!

22 inch wheels?!
I guess it shows that the companies priority is looks not performance, which pretty much goes against what the GT-R is....

hah....pretty much. I think it looks decent, but WHY cant aftermarket companies get sideskirts right? Almost 99% of them look terrible.

Didn't they get the memo,
Nissan said DO NOT MESS WITH THE GT-R

Nice wheels! But the fog lamp and plastic hood vent things need to go! Oh and also the weird looking rear fenders.

Here is what I think:
- Remove or rework the lower fog lights on the front fascia
- Remove the 2 rectangular slits from the center bumper
- Rework the rear fender flares, or at least paint them body color
- Smooth out the rear section of the side skirts
Perhaps after these modifications, I may even consider it.

The rear wheel flares are probably a reference to the original 1969 Skyline GT-R, which had black flares on the rear wheels only. I like them, actually.
