2009 Honda Civic Coupe revealed in brochure

Click above for gallery of the 2009 Civic Coupe
Just last week we revealed official images and specifications for the updated 2009 Honda Civic in sedan and hybrid body styles. Lest you coupe fans feel left out, we've finally found information on Honda's newish two-door in DX, LX, EX/EX-L and Si levels from a PDF brochure and the brand's U.S. website. As with the sedan, the front and rear of the Civic Coupe see the most change, though it'll take a trained eye to spot the differences out back. The front grille, though, looks more aggressive and sports a new honeycomb pattern, and the lower bumper has been redesigned with new air intakes. We likey. Also of note are the new clear turn signal lenses. On the inside, the available navigation system flips down to reveal a slot-loading CD player and inputs for digital audio cards, whatever those are. There's also a new USB music interface in the center console so you can just plug a flash drive full of tunes into the dash. A 140-hp, 1.8-Liter i-VTEC® engine powers the standard coupe and offers up to 36 highway mpg. Honda hasn't released any of this information through its media website, and the consumer website still isn't showing any 2009 Si models, so expect the big H to release more information on its '09 coupes in the coming weeks. In the meantime, take a look through our gallery below to chart all the changes. Thanks for the tip, Ricky!

Those wheels are gorgeous in comparison to the fugly wheels on the Civic Hybrid.

Who the heck carries their music on a PCMCIA card? Guess the top level execs at Honda have been living under a cave.

Using a PCMCIA card slot allows for flexibility of adapting any of the various SD or CF cards out there without having a whole bunch of ugly holes in the head unit.

its a PCMCIA card so you can get an adapter.
that way it can use any thing like CF, SD, microSD etc.
Its the same way in other cars (mercedes C class with command is like that)

I must admit. I am a Honda fanboy. That said, I really do not like this "new" interior styling they have going. I think it is horrible. Enough so, that I would not consider any of the Civic range as a new car choice.

As a Honda fan for the past 11 years it really kills me that Honda has taken a direction in design for the worst. I really don't mind the outside of the Civic, although not what it used to be I can live with it. That inside is too fugly for me to ever like it. They need to give up that two tiered dash system. While many people don't mind it, I've never heard a complaint about the single tiered dash. If Honda wants to experiment, let them do it but now with their bread and butter cars.
The Accord has become way too big and take it from personal experience, that 08 has had its share of issues ranging from door handles not opening to the biggest annoyance or the rear squeaking noises. I'm going to sit this generation out and either get a Hyundai Sonata (if I can find my color and option combination) or a Nissan Altima.

My buddy of mine was just in the market for an Si, and I instructed him to get the Sedan, as the coupe looked way to girly... this one definitely looks alot better.

I prefer the sedan over the coupe. The interior is odd, but liveable. I am hating to see what Honda has in store for the Civic next-gen. Gonna git hit with the ugly stick I'm sure like all their recent intros.

The worst thing about this car was the backlights, and they still didnt fix it

Leak of LEAKS! I TOTALLY know what the next Civic looks like now. Those idiots and their premature brochure pictures! They need to keep those under wraps until the car comes out so the world can be shocked and awed at the sheer scope of the change.

Am I missing something? All these "new" cars look the same.
An AMG Mercedes passed me several weeks ago and I thought it was a large Honda, until I noticed the AMG badge on the trunk lid.
WTF, doe nobody know how to design a car anymore?

Liked the old grill better. Hope they did something about the aluminum shift knob in the Si, that thing gets way too hot/cold.

I have the same sorta shift knob in my RSX type S. I know it gets hot or cold, but I love the grip and weight on it.

no way they old grill is @SS. I hope we are finally getting away from the chrome mustache grill. Every freakin car has it these days and it looks horrible. Everything from mazda6, to last gen accord and civic, to saturn, even the freakin WRX STI has that stupid mustache grill. I cant say how much i hate that styling trend. glad to see it go on the civic, please shave teh mustache on every other car.

I have an 08 for a daily beater and I like the changes. Of course, your getting a 17,000 or so car, so I have always said its a good car for the buck. Resale, gas mileage, reliability, decent looks. Not much here worth complaining about really.
