2010 Chevy Camaro SS gets unfortunate Fergalicious debut

Of all the places for Chevy reveal the 2010 Camaro SS, it's chosen a GM-sponsored photo spread for Conde Nast. The free supplement's zeitgeist is "Fashion Rocks" and in keeping with the theme, they've chosen the decidedly un-rocking Fergie as the musical icon to accompany the Camaro SS on glossy stock.
Comparing the image above with the pictures Chevrolet released last month, you can clearly see the SS badging, deeper fascia and upgraded brakes, reported to be sized 14-inches up front and clamped by calipers by Brembo.
The Camaro SS will be packing a 422 hp (estimated), 6.2-liter V8 and will go on sale in March of next year, along with the V6 RS models.

This car's already been "revealed", I don't think this is so big a deal.

Its not a big deal, but really I think the Camaro deserves a better poster girl than Fergie, no? If they have to do a celebrity, why not Jessica Alba instead?

Clay Aiken could be equally exciting.
Why these guys didn't go for Dana Patrick, Milka Duna or some other female who is known more for cars than dancing is beyond me...

Look i understand that GM has to promote this car, but Damon...DUDE. That does not mean that everytime Camaro does something Autoblog needs to post it.
By the way, How many Camaro storries do you have for tomorrow?

FTA: The Camaro SS will go on sale in mid-March 2009 — the same time as the V6 models. The V6 cars will start in the low $20Ks and the SS will sneak in under the $30,000 mark.
How do they know that? Did I miss something? Where is this pricing info?

I saw one the other day, they look good. Theres not a dude in here that wouldn't love to get some fergalicious in their car, so they go together.

Last I checked, Im a dude and I would be plenty happy to not have some Fergie in my car, or anywhere near me for that matter.
She looked much better when she was with Wild Orchid and for the first 6mos or so she was with BEP(which she ruined btw), but she has gone downhill quite quickly since then. Maybe the Meth made her age too quickly?
Either way, not a fan of this former meth addict who tends to piss herself occasionally in public.
At least having her in the ad with the Camaro draws more attention to the Camaro, she just looks quite unfortunate in this ad. Trying too hard, too fake, I don't know, but I'm not a fan of it.

You didn't catch my sarcasm.

Somebody already got "some fergalicious"... somewhere. She is expecting (if I heard the mindless entertainment TV reporter correctly...)
I don't want to tap a pregnant woman, especially in my brand new ride! :) :) :)

Her name should be Fugly, because that's what she is.....
Anyway, the car is sick, but Fugly....erm- Fergie is not the right person for this event. Chevy, you've made at least 5 people in America now look at the Camaro SS as a chick car. Even Danica Patrick would have suited this role better.

BTW, I love the car, regardless. (see avatar)

Fergie did not piss herself during the photo shoot, darn!

Ohh the things i'd do with Firgie.
By the way you do know that she is like 40 years old?
As for Camaro, yeah, i'd drive one, i may seriously consider buying it.

This is precisely why their ad agency needs to be fired. After 90+ years, Campbell-Ewald is utterly without competence. With complacency like this, GM's "loyalty" to outdated marketers is increasingly likely to drag them under.

Please, GM, get rid of the gigantic gold (gag) bowties (front and rear) on this thing. Gold = tacky.

Be nice to GM. Remember...they're having money issues right now. They couldn't afford Shakira, so they went with the Walmart version.
