Woodward 2008: Ford Booth Tour at 9 Mile

Click above for high-res gallery of Ford's booth on Woodward Ave.
Ford's display for the Woodward Dream Cruise used to be located at 15 Mile, but this year the Blue Oval picked up and moved all the way down to 9 Mile in Ferndale. And when we say 9 Mile, we mean the whole street. Ford's display is literally on the road and stretches for blocks and blocks east of Woodward. The heart of it is Mustang Alley, at the entrance of which are three Ford GTs of varying color and two racing Mustangs turned on their sides so their undercarriages can be inspected up close. Enter Mustang Alley and you'll travel back in time as you stroll down the street. First are the late model pony cars followed by the '90s, '80s and older. Here is where you can also find booths for SVT, Ford Racing, Shelby and ROUSH, as well. Ford only occupies about half a block on the other side of Woodward where a pair of 2009 Ford F-150s flank the Blue Thunder Monster truck. Oh, and behind that is a motorized bull, because nothing says "Ford" like a motorized bull.

Wow, in the picture that shows up under the article title, the front bumper on that Stang had a seriously terrible re-paint.
That orange peel is absolutely horrendous. Looks like it was repainted by a 5 year old.

I don't think that's a factory bumper, definately not a factory hood on that car.

I saw that bumper and thought the same thing! Heck, I do be better painting it outside with some spray paint. It would look much better if they would just hit it with some 1500.
I like the grille treatment on the Flex and the little red Focus at the end there looked decent but would look better with some better wheels.

That Flex is definitely cool.
And that red Focus near the end, I believe, is the updated coupe that is supposed to be going on sale. It actually looks better.

Images 007 and 008 are great for the guys who think the reason the FR500C has been pounding Porsche and BMW for 4 seasons in sports car racing is cause its some sort of magical race car, which is sooo much more modified than those two "true sports cars".
That is pretty much standard Mustang GT/GT500 suspension and driveline, not to mention identical frame, haters.
