VIDEO: Schumi shows off Ferrari 430 Scuderia to customers

Click above to watch the video
Not that the deal would need to be sweetened, but buying the latest Ferrari supercar comes with perks. For a group of European customers who came to Maranello to take possession of their new 430 Scuderias, that included a hands-on advanced driving course to show them what their new rides could do. And who better to demonstrate the capabilities of the fastest car ever to lap Fiorano than the driver who helped develop it? Follow the jump and you'll find a video of Michael Schumacher glad-handing the millionaires and their new rides around Ferrari's private on-site test track, posting hot laps and drifting around the wet handling course. Prepare to be jealous.

You know what, I really don't care. The R8 and the GranTurismo S have already stole my heart, and the 911 is dealing for what's left over.

Let me guess Schums is the big guy in the passenger seat with the grey hair. Heh.
Anyway, have fun, blow that baby out, get some more lessons. I am glad there are folks who can partake. All the tech trickles down pretty fast.

Are the 430 Scuderias really the fastest cars ever to lap the Fiorano circuit? I would have thought the Enzo, the FXX, and the Evoluzione would be faster still.

As far as I know the FXX and Evo version are not street legal. But yes, the 430 Scuderia is an entire 1 second faster than the Enzo
Big Rocket 7:35PM (8/15/2008)
XeroState: Thanks. I never would have expected Ferrari's entry-level model, when properly tuned in-house, could outrun Ferrari's former top supercar.
Mobius_1 10:37PM (8/15/2008)
Fiorano is quite a tight circuit with lots of corners, meaning lighter cars with better handling can be faster than all-power and less handling hypercar, OTOH, the Top Gear track is power circuit so Enzo is actually much faster

I would give my left nut to just drive one for the afternoon. The one thing we should all take from the video is Schui's driving in the beginning: notice how far ahead he looks.

Now if only we could get normal drivers to read that far up the road, We'd probley have less car accidents

Something worth becoming a millionaire for.

I'm a millionaire who has zero interest in the overhyped Ferrari brand. There are cars that offer a lot more bang for the buck. For example, the Nissan GT-R and 911Turbo PDK are on my current shopping list. Besides, I've been a McLaren fan for the past decades, I really can't imagine myself buying a Ferrari.

@ken aisin
where is Ferrari being overhyped? They are the most SUCCESSFULL F1 race team ever... for most motorsport fans all around the world the F1 represents the highest race class of all.. costing the most, paying the most, watched by the most and fastest around race tracks.
Ferrari pays not a single penny for car commercials, their race success is all they need.
They don´t need internethyped Ringlaptimes to prais their products.
Next to that fact a millionair like you should realize that there is a huge different if a mass production producer like Nissan builds one high performance car, or if a small scale producer like Ferrari, who build all by themself, builds only low production number high performance cars, were they need to earn money with every car sold to pay their worker, engineers and race team.
Soccer Mom 7:26AM (8/16/2008)
Dear ken aisin,
I should have stated it more clearly, and I apologize for it. It is something worth becoming a millionaire for in real life, not for posting on Autoblog purposes.

@ ken_aisin
If you are a millionaire, who so worried about bang-for-your-buck?

What I'd love to see from these hand-over ceremonies are the blooper tapes - I wonder how many of these buyers have stuffed it into the tyre wall on the first lap :)
Don't get me wrong - sweet car, lovely track and it must be a super experience. But you gotta know, some luckless saps have gotten it wrong a coupla (dozen) times :)
