Mitsubishi Colt to get Lancer's shark-nose for 2009
Following the market debut of the new Lancer and EVO, Mitsubishi appears to be preparing a mid-cycle facelift for its junior Colt hatchback that's sold in Japan and Europe. The photos, which were snapped at an apparent promotional photo-shoot in Berlin, Germany, indicate that the Colt will get the new face of Mitsubishi that incorporates the same style of shark nose from the larger Lancer, as well as a new rear end with a revised bumper and darkened taillights. Sources suggest that the updated Colt will make its debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October, so watch this space as the car's unveiling approaches. As small, fuel efficient cars become increasingly popular with the public, we could see a return of the Mitsubishi Colt on our own shores in the not-too-distant future.

It looks like a fish version of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.

I was thinking the exact same thing oddly enough...
This would be nicer if the headlights didn't look like they were added last minute. The grill could stay, but the headlights need to be changed.

I have to admit although I have never cared about Mitsubishi I really like the new brand face. Looks rather tacked on to an older less interesting model here but still looks great, especially on the Lancer & EVO

C'mon Mitsubishi, quit questioning IF the Colt should be sold in NA and just do it. Once upon a time, they sold quite well here. While you're at it, be a market leader and bring over Kei-class cars like the "i" as well. Double-dare you.
I'm tired of manufacturers claiming that there's no market for small cars... and they don't even TRY to sell them.

Totally agree. Can't do anything but help your CAFE numbers too.

Totally agree. I drove an old Colt until I lost interest in it at about 400,000kms. That thing was like a cockroach you just couldn't kill it. I would love to have to option of buying a new one. For that matter if Mitsu wont bring it over why doesn't Chrysler renew it's deal to bring them over. Lord knows they desperately need a small car and they have a lot of brand history with the Dodge Colt.

As a current Lancer owner I could definitely see myself trade it in for a more fuel efficient Colt as long as they make it a bit more stylish in the behind.
While the Lancer is a pretty kick ass small car, I think I'd dig it more if the fuel efficiency was upped to the high 30s...

I still want a 1983 Dodge Colt Turbo...I lusted after that car.
Heck, just wait until this nose appears on SUVs, luxo-sedans and more. Just a matter of time...

The twins used to be the Dodge Colt and Mitsubishi Mirage. I had an 84 Mitsubishi Mirage and loved it. If they bring it over i would buy one, especially if they bring over a turbo model like they used to have in the 80's.

The new corporate face of Mitsubishi? At the current rate, the shark nose will make its way on the Pajero in the not to distant future.
