VIDEO: Ford Mustang burnout in slow-motion
Comedian extraordinaire Dave Chappelle theorized on his Comedy Central show that everything looks better in slow motion. We'd be inclined to agree, especially after watching this video of a Ford Mustang doing a burnout. No doubt there are burnout videos with better cars or more smoke, but the slow motion effect combined with a soundtrack from Smashing Pumpkins makes this one of the coolest burnout videos we've ever seen. Follow the jump to watch the unhurried destruction of tire tread.

V6 body, whats under the hood?
Of course the back bumper is V8, but i didn't see the second tip, just the cutout.
Nice soundtrack, went crazy when i heard it used for 'The Watchmen' Trailer.
Before anyone asks its "The beginning is the end is the beginning"

I believe the 1999 GTs had 35th anniversery badges where GT normally was. But then again thats probadly knowing too much.

Good spot..... I rewound! There isn't a second tip that I can see either but the hood is obviously not stock and I noticed hood pins! Doesn't make sense. After market hood, single exhaust, V6 body, after market tires/rims and still, single exhaust. Hmm!

Oh, I thought it looked like a pony package decal, but you are probably right on the 35th anniversary. Custom hood takes away a big clue...

I watched it again for scheisse und kacke. I still only see one exhaust...

Yeah its a bit hard to tell. Could even be an '04 which I think had 40th anniversary badging. Actually I'm leaning '04 because the mustang in the grill is not 'corralled'. I'm also having a hard time picking out dual pipes, but I can't really see a single one either. It should be on the drivers side. If this car is supercharged as the tag says then if the exhaust was modified (almost certainly) he may not have routed the pipes past the rear axle. Mustangs didn't get after axle mufflers until the '05. Its not uncommon for people to not bother routing pipes over the axle and out the back on this gen.

actually, its a mustang GT pumping out some big power(10 second car) with a V6 body kit so its sleeper-ish. not a bad strategy, there are quite a few V6 posers with aftermarket hoods afterall.
and i NEVER get sick of this video!

Me too. I was reminded of it, especially the music.
That's so tight. I almost like the Mustang.

V6 = pass. The giveaway is the foglight delete.
It'd need a soundtrack- who'd want to hear a V6 warble. Gimme a V8.

That is pretty cool. And that Mustang looks good. Nice, clean, tasteful mods.

Hey guys, I'm happy to see the video on Autoblog. The body is a 2001 GT body, not a v6. Basically the only stock thing on the car is the body, other then that, everything has been upgraded.
Here are some pictures for you :

I was gonna say plates don't match, but I looked up at some other pics on the site and man those are awesome shots on there.
Also fun to see someone close to my home, I'd have to take out my Caliber SRT-4 for some smoke sometime :P

Phenomenal. I'm no Mustang fan, I AM a big Pumpkins fan--but neither had any effect on my appreciation of this video. It's awesome to see someone take the time and care to make a car video that is well-executed enough to be enthralling even to someone who doesn't love cars. Again, well done.
Peace
