Glue-on Brembos: Your AMG Sentra wants an upgrade

Poseurs, take note: you can finally corral all that imaginary power your Hyundai Elantra SRT8 isn't making underhood. Eric Hsu at JDM Insider's Beyond the Dyno blog came across what'll doubtless be the latest trend to show up on M-badged Plymouth Breezes everywhere: bogus, glue-on brake caliper covers that give you the high-performance Brembo look while perfectly maintaining your fakemobile's incomprehensible lameness. When it comes to things that suck, innovation knows no bounds.

More than just ricers do dumb stuff like that. Even ignoring the amount of pimped out cavaliers and noems running about, there's a whole hoard of terribly fake truck.....Come-on who needs 4 fake hoodscoops and a spoiler on a 95 F150 XL!

oops...neons

Mmmm...for when the "No fat chicks, car will scrape" bumper sticker just doesn't say it.

This is a genius idea, i cant beleive i didnt think of something so simple. I guess the whole big brake look needed a little time to mature. Now it seems almost every other performance car comes with a big brake option.
I know most/all autobloggers wont be interested, but whoever thought this up is going to make a few bucks.

What happened here?
Of course no one's going to put these on a truck.
99% of the target audience for this product probably owns a bread and butter sedan (civic, cav, neon, etc) and wants it to LOOK like it's something MORE.
RICER RICER RICER.
That reminds me, that Escalade ESV that passed me the other day had portholes (only 6), more chrome, exhaust, and a HUGE WING on top of the tonneau.

I would like to put those on some drum brakes. Just for fun.

Don't laugh, I've seen people with their drum brakes painted.
That One Person 4:49PM (8/12/2008)
It cracks me up when someone with a Cav, Civic or any old school "ricer" has painted the rear drums.

Holy crap, Autozone has a new best seller. Something finally dethroned the neon underkits and spinner hubcaps.

weren't those dethroned by the stick on portholes?
shadysi 1:26PM (8/12/2008)
I think the stick on fender vents are the current king of the ricer-hill
Benfolio 2:49PM (8/12/2008)
No, the stick on fender vents are more of a ghetto rice addition.
I swear, if I see one more Altima, 300, or anything OTHER THAN A BUICK (Or Maserati, I suppose) with 6 portholes I'm going to........

I still think the adhesive sunroof is the winner!
what the f- is up with that!
Donovan 12:44PM (8/12/2008)
wouldn't he need permission from brembo to pull this off?

it doesn't actually say Brembo from what I can tell. It just looks like the logo's basic shape. That could actually say 'bogus' and no one could tell.

Well if you go to the link in the story

It actually shows BREMBO on the images, so yeah, kinda odd, unless brembo made them, that you can have that on there
