Click above for a high-res gallery of the Hyundai Velostar concept.

Hyundai's replacement for the Tiburon (aka the "Coupe" outside the U.S.) will make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next September. As expected, the new Coupe will be inspired by the Velostar concept that debuted in Seoul last year and will be built atop the Hyundai i30/Kia Forte's front-wheel-drive platform. Hyundai insiders suggest that the Coupe will be approximately the size of the last generation Toyota Celica, smaller than the upcoming Genesis Coupe, and will feature a shooting-brake body style.

The new Coupe will go on sale abroad shortly after its unveiled in Frankfurt, and there's no word yet on when Hyundai will import the new two-door to the U.S. to replacing the aging Tiburon.

        @ Blackcanary : +1!!!

That is an old Hyundai concept called the Veloster. They don't have a picture of the new Hyundai coupe, so this may be the closest thing.

And I thought the Genesis coupe killed the Tibby.
Its a shame the Tiburon never had RWD or a more powerful engine. I was a fan of the body.

      This new one looks interesting.

Look into the "Genesis coupe." - This is the "Coupe" 's replacement, the direct successor to the tiburon/tuscani/coupe (as it was called depending on the market), but within the Tiburon community all eyes are on the Genesis, which seems to be (aesthetically) a more logical offspring.

Well the iPod docking station is cool. Everything touching it kinda sucks though.
I take that back to an extent. I really like the interior but the exterior is pretty ugly.
      Bring back the Scoupe!
I hope it comes with dog poop because it stinks.

Gee that was a real intelligent comment coming from an "intelligent" person.

-5 points for lack of creativity
        -3 for sounding childish.

Uh..I for one would be interested in buying that..

        so you FAIL
More importantly, not ONE person here is interested in buying it, not one.
Very attractive i think. won't be as cool once in production though ! If only a car maker came out with those kinda interiors in todays day/date.

      Sciroccai?

Nice design. If the keep the general profile this will blow the competition out of the water.
how heavy is this one going to be? 3600 lbs+?
No way will it be that heavy. The Genesis coupe with the optional 3.8L V6 is even less than 3600lbs.
The blindspots would be terrible, but I actually like it. Looks pretty aggressive-- not exactly pretty, but interesting at least. Though to me, coupes are a complete waste of wheels. Give me a 5-door any day.
that huge blind spot looks like an accident waiting to happen.
Kinda cool but i prefer the first generation Tiburons still in terms of looks
