The Gumball 3000 started its 2008 tour this weekend, and we caught up with the rally in Huntington Beach, CA where the drivers stopped for a brunch and fashion show hosted by Lux5 Events at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. The group of 120 cars started out in San Francisco on Saturday and will also makes stops in San Diego and Las Vegas. From there the tour jumps continents and heads to North Korea, eventually ending in Beijing to catch a live view of the Olympic games. Enjoy our gallery of high resolution photos below.

What gorgeous cars! I wish i could have heard that symphony as it drove by...
Are decals easy to take off without ruining the paint (if those are decals at all)?

I was able to catch the launch in San Francisco yesterday. Some of the decals were poorly put on, you could see massive air bubbles everywhere. I assume you can easily peel them off.

Yawn, boring cars this year except for the Gumpert.

I predict the car with the best aircon will win, and the winner, regardless of aircon condition, will not be a Smart

Whoever did the "artistry" on that Maserati should be tried for crimes against humanity!

Very nice cars. Although, some the graphics look stupid. Like the Maserati, the camo ferarie. The taxi themed Corvette looks silly.

This is wrong. People with tons of money doing a rally...try the BABE rally on for size...(google it). I did it this year it was amazing. all the fun of this but for cheap! $250 cars going down to new orleans and back in some cases!

Uh, autoblog, how come you didn't take any pictures of the *best* cars that were there. I went and saw them in San Francisco. Best cars by far were the Jag XJ220, the Enzo and the 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GTS.
Honourable mention goes to the 80's Ferrari 328's.

really nice cars, and the best car i liked was the ford GT the color looks nice. I would not mind driving any of them, so if you need an extra driver, and some company to the girl in the yellow lambo or some other girls hit me up.

Two years back, I saw a few Gumball cars racing thru London. It wasn't on at the time, but it's still pretty cool to see a camo F430 and Noble M12

I caught the Gumball downtown San Diego. It was a great show, although there were some cars not present I would liked to have seen (atom, konigsegg, tesla). They had a Riviera and something else from the 70's lifted and rolling on what looked like 26" rims. That was cool. There was also a Veyron, a Noble M400, and an Enzo. The Carrera GT exhaust note was sick! I liked the Vette Taxi :) But, I'm from NY, so what do you expect.

I'm the Vette Taxi Driver...
and yes, North Korea was sick! Although, our drive through China with a police escort doing 100 mph was even better ;-)
I'll try to post pics and movies, as soon as we are done editing.
Thanks to all gumball fans for your support
