Transformer toys take on Nissan GT-R

Dozens of new vehicles are expected to appear in the forthcoming Transformers sequel, and we're excited by the possibility of seeing motorcycle transformers mix it up with an Audi R8 and a mystery Corvette. But after seeing these pics, it's obvious what the movie is really missing: a Nissan GT-R. Seriously, take a good look at the GT-R that we recently drove -- it's just begging for some sort of crazy robot-transforming goodness. At least toymaker Takara-Tomy sees in Godzilla what seems so obvious to us, as the Japanese company has worked up a new series of Transformer toys for a new series called "Alternity." Included in the series is the Nissan GT-R, of course.
Considering the off-screen battle that the Team Corvette has waged with the new hotness from Nissan, isn't the movie just begging for an epic, to-the-death fight scene?

To bad GM basically owns the movie, and would never let the GTR beat (let alone be in the movie, and give people ideas of wanting to own one) their Corvette in the movie. I am not saying the GTR would beat the Corvette, so don't go there, but I am just saying it would be lopsided, and unfair.

GM allowed a Saleen Mustang to be in the flick, so why not a GT-R? I just hope the next movie shows a variety of makes, not just more GM products. The concept of sentient robotic aliens visiting this planet is unbelievable, but even more of a stretch is that they might consider emulating Chevrolets. Maybe Ferraris or Porsches, but not Chevys.
And a question for the Transformer fans: who is that GT-R likely to be? Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen were all 280Zs, but I don't recall any Skylines.

GMs ownership (good choice of words) is the major problem, its the principle reason I hate Bayformers. Jazz (a Martini Porsche 935 Turbo race car) a Solstice? Be serious.
I can understand Porsche not wanting to be involved, but there are other cars that carry the same spirit.
As for this GT-R guy (do want, by the way), I could see Jazz (was an RX-8 in Alternators) or Prowl or the others mentioned. Judging by this picture:

Rodimus?

I agree, the movie version of Transformers pretty much sucked, and it nearly ruined what was a pretty cool legacy of characters for those who grew up with the G1 Tformers.
The new GT-R pics look to be more of a Transformers Universe toy release than anything related to the movie sequel. The movie robots are much more organic looking. If a GT-R does show up, though, I hope it's not as Rodimus, who I thought was a flat, boring character. Wheeljack would be cool, though.

I hated the movies. Like these advanced robots would choose the most unadvanced car maker to transform into is completely dumb. It would have been loads better with a mix of cars.

In Japan, the GTR is probably more of a hero than Otimus Prime is.

Ah, I wondered if this'd show up here, considered sending it in myself and then (typically) forgot.
Anyways, this is a Japan only toy for now and it's a sort of evolution of the 1:24 scale licensed car Transformers. Those didn't do so well in Japan so they've scaled it down to 1:32 and it is of course Optimus Prime (Convoy over there) since he is pretty much the only character that is guranteed to sell a new line to Japanese peeps.
Available in Convoy Red or Nissan's signature colour for the car, silver. It has a full interior as well as some diecast metal parts.
I do hope they manage a few more, it looks great.
