VIDEO: How Mercedes-Benz beats them all
What happens when you combine corporate tone deafness, crappy 1980s-sounding schmaltz rock (think "Karate Kid" montage-level bad), and a dash of political incorrectness? You get this deliciously uncomfortable Mercedes-Benz propaganda extravaganza, "That's How We Beat Them All." Like Jason Giambi's mustache, this is so bad, it's awesome.

I also love how the the band basically rips off the guitar lick from "Where the Streets Have No Name" in the name of this crapfest.

If you think Karate Kid's montage level was bad, you should see Pocket Ninjas' montages.

... wtf ... really? That was made by Mercedes? I'm kind of sick now. I wonder if it translates better into Deutsche.

I'm speechless.

Yeah, this screams of those "internal use only" "we have low morale so watch this awful montage to feel better about your job" training videos for MB dealers.
Only this one seems to take itself really seriously.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
From an educational perspective, I learned that I must have some Japanese background, because the line that best described my reaction was, "The Japs they just cry."

You know someone should tell MB that the Yakuza love S-Classes. I wonder if they would be interested in seeing this.

I salute you... I only made it all of about 16 seconds before I realized that I was still awake and not having some horrible, horrible nightmare.
The worst part of this is that someone watched the final version of this, all edited together, and said to themselves, "That looks good, let's use it!"
Craig 3:43PM (7/30/2008)
That seriously makes me want to buy a BMW... or a freaking Acura, really any nice luxury car other than one from MB. It almost makes me embarrassed to own a Jeep...

I agree. I've never really desired a benz in the first place, but this definitely makes me cringe as much as seeing all the wannabe-successful benz drivers with their low lease payments on the streets of LA. I love German cars but give me an Audi or maybe even the Bimmer!

uh... not to get a off topic but wtf does any of this have to do with jeep??
The Luigiian 4:08AM (7/31/2008)
Mercedes-Benz (formerly Daimler-Chrysler) used to own Jeep.
Doktor Z, bad moustache, etc.

Speaking of Jeep: I wanted a Patriot, now I may reconsider...
Even if they're now owned by Cerberus I would be concerned, considering that these people engineered the car. The least they could've done is engineered some better music for their employees. What kind of mean-spirited franchise DOES this to its own employees? I mean, I've seen some bad promos but they at least had decent music some of the time, maybe Don Henley or something.
