2010 Ford Mustang to debut at LA Auto Show

You read that right folks. The 2010 Ford Mustang will make its official debut at the LA Auto Show on November 19th. According to a source speaking with InsideLine, the new 'Stang won't be shown in Detroit as originally rumored, conceivably as a response to the Camaro hype-machine we've had to endure over the last two weeks.
When the wraps are pulled off the 2010 Mustang, expect all-new front and rear fascias, including a new grille, headlamps and taillights, along with a tweaked hood and a few cues rumored to be pulled of the Guigiaro Mustang concept.
Speculation about powertrains has been running rampant for months, but a reworked V8 and V6 is part of the package, and possibly a new turbocharged, EcoBoost bent-six further down the line. Sales will begin

Dude, everybody here knows what you think about Ford, you don't need to post about it in every single Ford related post.

I look forward to seeing how they will compete with the Camaro

Hi, my name's Corvette ZR1 and I go around complaining about things that don't even affect me, just because I don't have anything better to do with my time.

"Yeah i Do... lol... Hahahahaha...
Im like the American Jeremy Clarkson But Worst..."
Correct. Both make incendiary comments about American brands. But only one of them has poor grammar/capitalization skills.

Of the three musclecars coming on sale, I have a feeling the Mustang is going to be best. About two-hundred pounds less weight, and the new engines will probably be about the same power as the Camaro's and Challenger's if not more so, and if they're the 5.0 and 3.7 we've been talking about the Mustang will probably be more fuel efficient than either of its rivals.
The IRS might be a problem, though.

I'm a Ford fan but I dont know. have to see what Ford pulls out of the hat.
That fat rear and the rear axle are a lot to overcome.
The Camaro is hefty but beautifully proportioned.
I project no losers in this contest. For all the ricers and such out there, there are more pony fans. As they say, no subsitute for cubic inches. Look at the latest C&D? that had the article and Fast and Fuel Efficient. Vette ranked way up there.
Course there is no substitute for a weight loss program either and I would be excited to see both these cars lose 10-15% of their weight and size.

Actually, Job1 is scheduled for February. That's not late next year. Some of the new engines might not be ready until late next year.

Camaro > Mustang
I highly doubt the Mustang will live up to the Camaro's performance. The Mustang has a 52/48 weight dist (versus 52/48 of the Camaro), uses the age-old live axle as opposed to the Camaro's independent rear suspension. Unless they dramatically revamp the internals (getting rid of that pig-headed understeer, mushy 5-spd clutch), I don't see how it can compete. Having driven my friend's GT, I was very underwhelmed, and the 2010 isn't a redesign.
The only potential upside is that I'm guessing it'll be cheaper.

Guess you erred there, same weight dist for both.
I love the Mustang but I got to say the Camaro is really hot.

That should've been 54/46 vs 52/48, thx for pointing that out.

As the owner of a current Mustang GT it's nice to see that Ford has finally paid attention to at least one little detail--body colored mirror housings. I love my GT but every time I wash the darned thing the black mirror housings annoy me just a little...

I like the black mirror housings. Plus they don't show damage or scrapes the way the body color ones do.
And btw Ford should have a turbo four and a turbo six with start/stop for the engines, pop the economy which everyone notices while fading some of the top line performance, which most people never use. They'd sell twice as many, esp if gas prices flirt with $5/gallon, in which case that V8 GT will be a lame a@# duck.

LA? No one even buys Fords out there!
They showed the mustang here (in Detroit) first in 2004, kind of weird to show the next in LA. Maybe they'll show the new US Focus at the NAIAS then. Throw Detroit a bone Ford, come on.
