The MINI Clubman is everything the MINI Cooper is and more -- nine inches more. It has a passenger-side suicide door and that wide-mouth split rear gate, but everything else from its retro looks to the 172-hp turbocharged four-cylinder underhood is the same. But is it the same? Does nine inches of wheel base ruin the go kart-like handling we love so much in the MINI Cooper S? The folks over at Web Rides TV were itching to answer exactly that question, so they pitted the Mini Clubman S against a real, 9-horsepower go-kart. To give the kart a chance, the race was performed on an actual go-kart track, squeaky floors and all. The winner? You'll have to hit the jump to find out, but the race is more exciting than the finish.

The whole idea is for it to be entertaining and to go up against a regular go-kart not a sprint cart. A good video and it shows the Mini handles pretty well.

That was awesome! If TG USA is as good as that than I am satisfied. The host was not so good at the beginning but pretty funny during the race.

"The center of gravity is, in fact ... my ass."

One thing comes to mind: SLR.Kart

Nice video, nice race, nice Mini, nice go-Kart. I want both please, ehehehehheh.

Oh my God! I want a Go-Kart. And a Mini Clubman just so I could race it.

      Very Entertaining, BTW

That was actually a pretty entertaining video. The Cooper was impressive, and I love that win at the end.

Man, that was one spinout away from Mr. Host there getting run over by the Mini. I'd prefer to see them do lap times separately for a more realistic time...racing w/ traffic makes the times more variable but also doesn't make for as good of TV.

Isn't the new Cooper S turbocharged, not supercharged?
regardless...this is probably the stupidest video stunt i've ever seen. trying to emulate the guys over at top gear was a bad choice for these guys...

I don't know, SimbaDogg. After seeing that video, I plan on checking out more of their stuff. Top Gear just annoys me. These guys don't, yet.

They corrected it, but the text originally said it was supercharged, thus my question.

cool video. Presenters are a bit stiff, but the writing and production was very good. USA Top Gear should take notes.

That video gives me a bit more hope for a decent US Top Gear series.

        @FillerUp
I was thinking the same thing, but can you imagine how much stick May and Clarkson would give WebRides' "racing driver" for that smile?
Stop grinning like an idiot man! This is not a toothpaste commercial!

Good point! Diddnt think of it like that..

That was a rather TopGear-like challenge. I liked it. And I've been to Dromo a number of times, and it's probably the only indoor kart track I've been to wide enough to even try this.

Ok i love Tope Gear alot, and pretty sure i have seen every episode but why does everyone have to compare a video to Top Gear its very annoying.
