Lucky owner takes delivery of his new Foose Coupe

With the complete and utter collapse of Unique Performance, we were wondering who would be taking over the sales and marketing for the Foose Coupe. Not to worry, because Superformance Distribution of Irvine, CA has picked up the reigns and recently delivered its first car through its Hillbank Motor Corporation dealership. This is just the fourth Foose Coupe produced, after the green and black prototypes at the 2006 SEMA show and the first publicly available car that was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson's Palm Beach auction last year. The owner opted for the 392ci Hemi V8 pumping out around 500 horsepower, and a custom paint scheme featuring carbon fiber spears surrounded by flames hand painted by Chip Foose himself. Irvine, CA - On Tuesday, July 17, Hillbank Motor Corporation, the home of Superformance Distribution and Shelby Distribution USA delivered its first Foose Coupe to its lucky new owner. "It was a very proud day for us," said Lance Stander, CEO of Superformance Distribution. "We wish the new owner all the best and lots of fun driving."
This particular Coupe is the fourth built and only the second available to the public. It features a unique paint scheme featuring a carbon fiber spears on the front, back, and sides surrounded by flames hand painted by Chip Foose himself. Power comes from a 392ci (6.4L) Hemi V8 producing approximately 500 horsepower and 480 lb-ft torque, with power being sent to the wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The polished aluminum wheels are Foose-designed, and are wrapped with Pirelli PZero tires. Inside, the Foose Coupe features plush leather seating with 4-point safety harnesses, carbon fiber trim, and a pistol grip shifter.
About the Foose Coupe
The Foose Coupe debuted at the 2006 SEMA Show to incredible reviews from the automotive press and community and is available to the public as a signature series limited edition vehicle available through Superformance Distribution. Production will be limited to just 50 vehicles. The Foose Coupe features a carbon fiber monocoque body, independent front and rear suspension, 14-inch, 6-piston Baer brakes, and 20-inch Pirelli PZero tires. Each vehicle is signed by Chip and will be documented in the Foose Registry.

i saw the foose coupe in person :]
at the place they built it.
and the engine sounds like a beast!
the interior is sexy, and the carbon fiber body looks super hot! the whole thing is carbon fiber.
i also saw one in a different paint job, the interior was also differnt colors. but i personally liked the red scheme shown here in this article.

The original 392 is one heavy slug. The only heavier block I can think of was a Packard, also used by Nash a couple years. My grandfather had the Nash, with a four speed Hydramatic. I learned about understeer in that rolling motel. It could seat eight, sleep four virginal teens. We got caught in a storm and rode it out overnight in that beast. It started by lifting the shift lever for starter contact. After that broke, we installed a pushbutton on the dash. No key needed. Nobody the wiser, and it went to sleep when the front shock towers rusted away.

What a mess of conflicting styles - open wheel, hot rod front end, raked windshield. Bet it is fun to drive in the rain (and dirty). I looked at all the photos searching for something to like and couldn't find anything. Even the seats, which look okay, would be uncomfortable when wearing the seat belts - choke...
