VIDEO: Watch your height...
Miraculously, the driver of the '08 Dodge Ram in the video above escaped unharmed, along with his ten-year-old son. Apparently, he had miscalculated his position when pulling past the drive-thru station at his Dallas-area bank. Disaster quickly ensues after his tall camper trailer impacts the awning covering the entire area. Fortunately, no other cars were having transactions processed at the time. While the bank's going to remain open, the drive-thru area's going to be out of commission for a bit...

Yeah it was cool that it was looped! I'm just glad it wasn't a gas station! There would almost certainly been other people pumping gas etc. Thank God they're okay!

I guess you can call him stupid but things like this do happen.
I have heard tons of stories of guys in my department hitting bridges with backhoes and such. Heck, one guy forgot to drop the box of his truck and almost ripped down the canopy for our fuel pumps. We have taken down countless phone, cable and power lines before.
It slips people's minds sometimes. This guy is a little on the dumb side...

Holy sh*t! Hopefully he doesn't have the bare minimum liability insurance. Something tells me $100k isn't going to cut it for repairs.

Luckily banks tend to have more than adequate insurance.

Would have been a frontrunner for a Darwin Award. Glad no one was seriously injured though.

That's some cheap construction material used to build that bank if a trailer can do all that damage.

I was going to say the same thing. I was thinking, "Can Rams really come with that much torque, or is this bank constituted with shoddy stuff?"

Almost every gas station / drive-through is supported by columns, which by nature are very strong in the verticle direction but gives very low horzontal strength.
That 8000lbs diesel ram and 15,000 lbs 5th wheel combines to over 10 tons! That's a lot of weight to push sideways on a couple columns.
