Pursuit Vehicle: Overfinch unveils tricked out Range Rover
Take a ride through Los Angeles and you very well might see a Range Rover with a gun rack, but even with those giant spinners it won't be as pimpin' as Overfinch's Range Rover Country Pursuits Concept. Although labeled as a concept vehicle, the Overfinch Country Pursuits is available for order for a cost-no-object $287,000.
The show car unveiled at the London Salon Privé appeared resplendent in Aubergine purple with custom bodykit, including custom front and rear bumpers, side skirts, roof spoiler and exhaust tips. Inside it's all posh in Light Avocado and Cordovan leather with Olive Ash wood trim, plus a specially-crafted gun compartment complete with three sliding drawers for a removable gun case, ammo, and -- just to round things out -- a crystal stemware set. But just in case you thought it was all show, Overfinch has tuned the 4.2-liter supercharged V8 from 396hp all the way up to 470, along with fitting Brembo brakes with silver branded calipers and a special on-the-fly adjustable suspension. We know this is targeted as the ultimate hunting accessory, but frankly we're not sure who would be buying such a vehicle, nor are we sure we'd want to meet him.

But but gas costs 4.00 a gallon! What is wrong with Range Rover, it is a conspiracy directed by BP!

and yet these sell by the boat load in the uk where petrol costs around $10 a gallon.
maybe americans should stop moaning and realise they actually have very cheap fuel

Martin, I thin it was a joke.
Torrent 12:04PM (7/08/2008)
With gas prices, these will sell fast.
(leaking with sarcasm)

...Only if his GM or Ford PR guy has left the company!

The fact that Overfinch has tuned the 4.2-liter supercharged V8 from 396hp all the way up to 470 is an important competitive advantage.
It is the element that can make the difference in the future.

Lowered it has a sort of Ford Flex look - if you squint... hard.

Actually, it's the other way round, Land Rover design has been with us for a while.... Mind, Ford used to own Land Rover... So I think it's safe to say that it's the Flex that looks like a Land Rover rip-off.
BTW, built it chest of drawers.... nice touch, very nice touch, indeed....
BlackCanary 1:09PM (7/08/2008)
Whatever, not claiming "rip off" just a resemblance. Good for the Flex if it looks like a $290K Range Rover. Better than looking like a Scion xb.

It doesn't matter what US gas prices are, this is a British company, meaning it is for EU only. SO, you should make a comment towards gas prices being more like $9.00 a gallon (rough currency translation)! Doesn't matter though, since at that price the uber-rich could care less about the cost of fuel.

Has not been a British company for a long time.

At nearly 300K, i doubt the cost of petrol will bother the target market for this kind of auto. If a person can even consider this SUV, I would assume they are at least somewhat financially secure.

I could see it now, a hunter with his friends come back from the hunt with muddy boots, dirt and blood all over them along with their dead *insert animal here* and get into a $290,000 LR with White Interior... Hilarity ensues soon afterward.

The type of hunter that has a Range Rover shoots from the window. They dont get dirty or out of the truck.
MikeofLA 12:28PM (7/08/2008)
That's a "gangsta" and that's called a "Drive By"... not hunting.
Hike15 12:52PM (7/08/2008)
If someone wanted a land rover to go hunting it would make more sense to just get a defender
Jvijil 12:32PM (7/08/2008)
i just lost all respect for range rovers...that is bordering aztek ugly!
