Spy Shots: 2010 Kia Forte sedan on the road in MI

Autoblog writer and videographer extraordinaire, the ShunkMaster, is currently en-route to Pennsylvania with his wife and kids for the long holiday weekend, but that doesn't mean he's turned off his obsession for all things automotive. As he passed through the outskirts of Motown, the not uncommon sight of a camo-covered car appeared on the horizon. Chris's iPhone-wielding wife, Sara, snapped off a few pics of the cloaked mule, and being in the Dearborn area, the first obvious thought was a prototype Fiesta sedan. However, closer inspection revealed that it's the Kia Forte that was officially announced yesterday. The Spectra replacement proved to be a handsome little sedan that wears the Kia Koup clothes well. We're looking to catch in person -- uncovered -- soon.

I've never said this about a Kia, but this is nice. This might just be their best looking production car.

Who cares? We've already seen official, uncloaked pictures.

I like the size and shape. Nice. It a different story seeing the real car in a real scene doing more than modeling without photo retouching, wax, sandbags, etc.

Wow, I wondered where all the Tooling for the Saturn SL-1 went. Apparently, they are alive and well and living in Korea.

Why does KIA have to serve us these mundane leftovers? I've already seen the car without camo and it's got the look of a 1995 Mazda Protege especially the shoulder and the area around the mirror, we've seen this before, nothing new. At least the current Spectra had a touch of class (a baby CLS?), but this is lacking any kind of "Forte" being just a cheap rip-off of a bland 90's Japanese car.

snapped off a few pics of the cloaked mule,
That ain't a mule!
A mule car is a current vehicle that has been heavily modified with parts from a new design for testing and development purposes.
A prototype is a pre-mass production vehicle of new design that is used for testing and development purposes.
