Autoblog Night Watch: Top Gear, Season 11, Episode 2
It being Thursday night and all, we'd be surprised if you haven't scrounged the interwebs to find last Sunday's Top Gear episode – the most review-rich show in over two seasons. Hammond pitted the Audi RS6 Avant against a duo of downhill skiers, the Mitsubishi Evolution X and Subaru Impreza WRX STI battled it out for the umpteenth time and Clarkson found an eager dance partner with the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black. It was a show that reminded us of why we fell in love with Top Gear in the first place, even though it fell short of the high-water mark set by its previous small-screen masterpieces (DB9, Veyron and the V8 Vantage vs. 911 vs. M6 on the Isle of Man, just to name a few). Regardless, we've post the show in bite-size clips after the jump and if that isn't satisfaction enough, hit up Final Gear for the full episode. Also, if you haven't picked up an MP3/video player/iPod converter that hooks up to you TV, do it already. Watching the fiery trio on the big(ger) screen does the show – and it's videography -- justice.

i'm sorry. i disagree about the races. the DB9 race and the Veyron races were 'brilliant'. i've watched the DB9 one quite a few times and enjoyed it everytime.
as for the show itself. so far, the show is showing signs of 'epic' greatness. really want to watch the GT-R vs the Bullet train race.
Sunday nights are the craziest nights. the patience required to 'acquire' the video is just..... awesome show!

A well put together show, but not a second of this one is what I'd consider "best of" material. A bit of a snooze for Top Gear I'd have to say.

that is why hypothetically I would download the torrent then stream it to my xbox360 and watch it on my 56inch dlp...
of course I am sure that this breaks a law somewhere and I would never do it.
That being said watching Englishman have a prius lose to an M3 in the glory of a 56inch dlp while drinking a 15yo Scotch is a wonderful thing.

Fooman, what makes Youtube legal and bittorrent illegal? The fact that Google has lawyers? Neither format is completely legal, so you might as well pick the more enjoyable one.
And I'd argue that torrents made Top Gear the global phenomenon that it is today.

Torrents are okay, but rapidshare really beats everything else, hands down =)
You can also watch it the Monday after it comes out! (although technically, you could probably snag it on a torrent just hours after it actually airs in GB)
I just wish it came in a 720p version - but hey, its 1000x better quality than YouTube - but then, you have to get your Top Gear fix somehow!!

Top Gear isn't done in HD, the polar special was, but not any of the normal episodes. From what I remember next season will be in HD though.

The best episode of Top Gear is the one where they drove the Ferrari F430, Pagani Zonda, Ford GT to Milau Bridge in France.
