Chateau Clubman: Aznom's rolling MINI wine cellar
Mothers Against Drunk Driving are not going to like this one. Italian coachbuilder Aznom, which has previously rolled out custom MINIs like this pickup "tender", has now produced a Clubman inspired by a vintage of another sort. The Aznom MINI Chateau is distinguished by a mobile wine cellar installed in the trunk, capable of housing
six wine bottles in isolated comfort, along with six wine glasses with which to enjoy them. Aznom's wood veneer finish decorates the exterior and cabin, which also gets a unique leather trim. Riding on 18-inch TSW Pace rims shod with Yokohama rubber, Aznom will only produce 12 examples, each one individually numbered and personalized for their owners. We'll have to wait a few years to see if the Chateau gets better with age like the vino it transports.

PRESS RELEASE
Pleasure, Emotion, Pragmatism, Elegance.
These are the basic items of the new interpretation of the Mini Clubman signed Aznom.
So the new Mini Chateaux is born, a Mini that, thanks to its name evokes the elegance of the world of the Grands Chateaux; for this reason in its car trunk has found place a 6 bottles (and chalices) wine-cellar completely caulked and shock absorbent built up with the same wood and leather selected for the car.
Concerning the inner features, the match of aged / gaucho leather and alcantara creates a warm vintage atmosphere that embraces the passengers in a special trip of elegance, emotion and tradition.
In order to make this car version really special, we chose to couple a more "classic" style leather with an unconventional/eccentric old-looking one.
Regarding the car body , the exterior paint pearly-changeable brown has been matched with a sandy/gold metallic paint selected for the top, for part of bumpers and other details shaping up the whole car style creating an ideally separation between top and body, mostly thanks to the wide side windows that lightens the top part of the car.
The really distinguishing element is the precious wood used internally and externally.
Inside (glossy finished) for some details of dashboard and doors.
Outside (mat and weather resistant finished) for the top part of back bumper, head lamps frame, underlining so the back doors, emblmatic element, typical of the Mini Clubman version.
So, we wish in this way to dedicate to the legendary Mini Clubman a really brand-new interpretation, worthy of being its modern heiress.
The chose alloy wheels TSW "Pace" are elegant and sporty same time, and thanks to the generous dimensions of 18" equipped with 205/40 tyres Yokohama S-Drive has been put a stress on the peculiar dynamic vocation that all along distinguishes the Mini style.
The Mini Chateaux will be realized in a limited edition of sole 12 really exclusive samples characterized by numbered labels completed with the name of the lucky owners.

This is nothing new at all. In the 70s my family in Germany used to buy a lot of wine from a vinyard that provided wine tastings at their house. The representative drove an Audi that had the entire trunk converted to a refrigerated compartment that held quite a number of bottles of their various wines at the correct temperatures. As a matter of fact, the trunk was divided in two sections, one for whites with a lower temperature than the other one, for reds.

I'm speechless. Well, except for saying that I'm speechless.

Here, let me help.
That is the gayest car I've ever seen.
There.
Mini's can be cool. And that is what makes this abomination that much more offensive.

Have you seen Aznom's other product. It is a stow away kitchen knife holder for your airlines travel luggage.

I kind of like it. I think it would be better with a bigger car like a Mercedes CL where the ride is smooth.

Either a big Merc, or I think a big French Saloon would be equally (if not more) appropriate, such as a Citroen C6
And French wine is better than German and British wine, no?

I quite like the interior, except for that leather trim work that looks like it's been carved... too busy. The materials and colors are beautiful, but i'm with LloydChiro, this would be much better suited to a more luxurious vehicle. A Jaguar XJ, perhaps.

They installed all that stuff and it can only carry six bottles?

Yeah, too bad. If they had converted a Clubman, they could have fit 8 or 9 in there.
apearlman 3:26PM (7/02/2008)
-1 to my own joke. Apparently, it IS a Clubman.
1337 3:29PM (7/02/2008)
Yeah, a non-Clubman could manage four bottles, max.
Daniel Cowan 3:38PM (7/02/2008)
Try doing that with an original Mini. People may get a buzz or a kick out of that. I wouldn't try it with our original, but go ahead. If anyone does that, Autoblog, please tell. Party in a box or a go kart.
