Brothel Bus busted in Miami

We've all heard of party buses, right? For some folks, even the best party bus isn't exciting enough. When Christine Morteh, in Miami, Florida, decided to start a party bus business, she offered open bar for $40, stops all along South Beach, and... girls in G-strings, lap dances, and for $100, oral sex. Well, that sex-for-money bit is called "prostitution," and even in Miami, it's illegal. Who knew? Undercover detectives took a ride on the big black bus, made sure everything was as illegal as promised, and then shut down the party. In addition to Madame Morteh, 75 employees and customers were arrested. The excuse "I'm just trying to get to Ft. Lauderdale, how many more stops is that?" apparently didn't cut it. Thanks for the tip, catgirlshyla!

So many women and girls are prostituting themselves now, its not even funny. That's what happens when you live in a materialist consumer-driven economy that is also outsourcing its work ...
you get people who want things but can't afford them so they take the illegal route to get the money.
Women prostituting just to pay rent. Girls doing it just for sneakers and cellphones.
That's where the country has come.

I thought prostitution was the world's oldest profession? "materialist consumer-driven economies"are a relatively new phenomenon.

Why don't we just make prostitution legal? Then they can be regulated and taxed. Less money trying to stop them, and more money coming in as taxes. People are going to do it either way.

Great point. We ran a poll about this on Ask Dan and Jennifer (Dating, Love, & Sex advice column) asking "Should We Legalize Prostituation?" and got over 4,000 votes as of now. Most people support legalizing it.
Take the Prostitution Poll yourself here:

It's amazing how many people support legalizing it. People are definitely doing it either way, as they have been for thousands of years.
When you criminalize something like this (which doesn't actually hurt anyone) - you create an artificial black market. There's no government oversight to ensure product safety (i.e. regular STD tests), and you have mob rule in the industry, violence and turf wars between the gangs fighting for a "distribution region", customers with no protection from the producer, workers in the industry with no safety and protection from government oversight (an actually useful function of government), and lots of people going to jail without hurting anyone.
Just look at the drug violence and the incredible numbers of people (hundreds of thousands) in jail today for NON VIOLENT OFFENSES. That means they didn't hurt anyone. These are outdated laws based on various people's religious preferences, and they oppress millions of people.
And yes, if it's legal, then in addition to the safety factor from state oversight, these activities can be taxed - instead of being a bottomless pit for wasted law enforcement resources. And there's also a responsible party if there is a product problem. You'd have a lot less drug deaths if CVS prescribed the safe dosage and ensured the purity and safety of the product. Not to mention drastic fall in crime, since the black market cash cow would be gone overnight. Stealing drugs would be no more profitable than stealing gummy bears.
And talk about wasted resources... Police resources are wasted looking for consenting adults exchanging money for sex!
How crazy is that? Wow, still trying to figure out what part of "to protect and to serve" that falls under. It certainly has nothing to do with protect.
Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be out there protecting people from getting mugged in bad neighborhoods, solving murder or violent assault cases, that type of thing? You know, actually protecting the population?
Yeah, it's the republican party line, but that just shows why political parties are dangerous, how they keep people from thinking for themselves because they feel they have to "stay with their party" instead of standing up for what makes sense.
Prohibiting prostitution is a failed concept, just as flawed and almost as dangerous to our civilization as the "war on drugs" or various other "war on XX" of the day where career bureaucrats looking for more power scare a large part of the population into giving them free reign to ignore the Constitution (just this once, honest, "it's for your safety" and put people in jail for the arbitrary scare of the day.
The whole idea is as ignorant as preaching "abstinence only" to our children and teenagers instead of teaching basic sex ed so they can be smart and informed and make intelligent decisions - which would actually make a difference to the spread of STDs and the teenage pregnancy rates. It's absolutely amazing how many guys and girls think safe sex means pulling out fast enough so she doesn't get pregnant! Seriously.
Your thoughts? Be sure to take the poll above...
Have an awesome day!

Dan, you're the most disgusting waste of space I've ever seen.
PROSTITUTION IS EVIL SATAN MAKES PEOPLE DO IT
JESUS SEZ YOU'RE WRONG
Don't you see? If prostitutes aren't dangerous, then men will start using them. If men start using prostitutes, they will learn new sexual positions and start pleasuring their spouses/boyfriends/significant animals better, or will learn better "hand positions", if you catch my drift. This will undoubtedly lead to women feeling empowered and well-sexed, and the result would be President Hillary Clinton.
Do you really want that, Mr. Smarty-Pants Sex Guy? Or how about this...
"And talk about wasted resources... Police resources are wasted looking for consenting adults exchanging money for sex!
How crazy is that? Wow, still trying to figure out what part of 'to protect and to serve' that falls under. It certainly has nothing to do with protect."
When the police have nothing better to do than looking for adults exchanging money for sex, and they can't even do that, they'll begin having sex with each other. Do you know what cops mean when they say "we like donuts?" Didn't think so. You know why they call their police cars "cruisers?" Or why they have those little batons? I'll tell you why. They're one step away from being queer as a fruit salad at a gay pride parade, and when that is unleashed they'll be too busy looking at Gucci sweaters to protect us.
So, to reiterate: Keeping prostitution illegal keeps women from feeling good and empowered, and thus keeps Hillary Clinton from being made President. But, it has a more important reason: As long as our police officers are kept sexually-insecure and filled with pent-up sexual fantasies about one another, they can continue to use that inner rage (and their batons, of course) to brutalize people and give people speeding tickets to soothe their wounded egos and assert dominance.

TBA: During Hurricane season, fuel surcharges for all mobile brothel customers.
.... um, great idea. Let's squander natural resources on something that is probably better done not on a bus. Maybe they thought it'd be harder for them to catch, if they stayed in constant motion...

That had to be like playing GTA4, where you kill the hooker and get your money back, cept better cause you just have to arrest them, and also cause it's not a video game :D.

I don't see what the problem with prostitution is. The police should spend their time arresting people who commit crimes with actual, you know, victims.
