Several months ahead of its scheduled debut at this fall's Paris auto salon, production of the new Ferrari California has already begun at the Ferrari factory in Maranello. The news comes after previous speculation suggested that the California might have to be assembled off-site – potentially at sister-company Maserati's nearby facility in Modena – because the existing Ferrari assembly lines were already at full capacity. However, having now unveiled its newly-retooled manufacturing facility under the Formula Uomo program, the company has apparently increased production capacity to accommodate the assembly of the California, thus securing its legitimacy in the eyes of enthusiasts and potential customers alike.

I don't understand how ferrari can build more cars when they can't even keep up with current orders for the 599 And 612. I called someone at a factory ferrari dealership and they still have a 9 month list on the 599 and they have orders for the califorina already that is 1.5 year.

        Exclusivity
Way back when it took more than money to buy a Ferrari you had to be hand chosen by either Enzo Ferrari or Luigi Chinetti to have the honor of buying a new Ferrari. It's the easiest time to get your hands on a new Ferrari ever.

Seeing the way some people handle their Ferrari's, I feel we should go back to old times.

You must be certified in the ability to brake, to buy a Ferrari.

You don't understand Ferrari's logistics and tactics, do you?

Great grammar lesson there: I mean this by the way.
Oh, and I too think the car in the photo looks like a Maserati.

I was about to say the exact same thing. Maybe I needed to see actual Humans touching it in order to fully appreciate it. There's a 90% chance I'll never see one on the streets, but we gotta believe in something.

I like it, but anyone else think that the car the two guys are working on in the headline pic looks a lot like a Maserati GranTurismo?

And another thing, to say that any Ferrari "sucks" is absolutely outrageous. You have every right to prefer another car over a Ferrari, every person is different and that why there are different cars. But to say that any Ferrari sucks is ridiculous. While any individual model may not be the absolute best car ever created, you cannot deny that it is a truly incredible car, and it is among the best (and therefore doesn't suck).
