R8 V10 spied again at Audi's quattro GmbH

Click for hi-res images of the Audi R8 V10 at quattro GmbH
If the latest batch of spy shots are to be believed, the V10-powered version of Audi's R8 supercar must be nearing its public release. Following earlier shots snapped by the folks at Bridge to Gantry, more photos of what seems to be the same vehicle were caught by audiblog.nl at the source: quattro GmbH, Audi's equivalent to Mercedes' AMG or BMW's M division.
In addition to the wider intakes and fewer front grille slats discerned from the last spy shot, these images also betray a more aggressive body kit, a flux capacitor, larger exhaust pipes and two fewer horizontal fins in the rear. (We're kidding about one of those.) Check out the images in the gallery below.

Gorgeous! Audi now just needs to name the thing 'R10'

This always reminds me of the Acura NSX in style. This is what the NSX should have evolved into.

...not as a rip of in design from the NSX but just a reminder of the style of the NSX.

I saw a red NSX in traffic yesterday. I had to do a double-take because it was so low slung and sporty, which is too much of a rarity these days.

agreed. Sadly that will never happen. With the way things are going at Honda those crackwhore designers will probably give us something to laugh at for many years.

It probably does have a flux capacitor. Only on the European model, though.

The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?

I don't know, assuming they're using the RS6 motor they're only making .00008174 gigawatt/L

They couldnt have taken a picture of the motor? i mean how hard would that have been? its a glass cover.

this will likely be the "R8 V10" or something along those lines...but NOT the R10. The R10 will be a diesel, to celebrate the R10 race car, just like the R8 celebrates the R8 race car. But dont expect to see that until the R10 race car is retired. i could be wrong, but that is what i predict.
and as another "spy shot" check out this video of the r8 v10 on the nurburgring:

I thought the original R8 was also Diesel.

Don't EVER joke about the flux capacitor. Without it we would not have the New Beetle, Mustang or other new ponycars.

Way to make your own V10 supercar compete with your subsidiary's V10 supercar, Audi.

first, most people aren't cross-shopping this and the gallardo. they target two fundamentally different markets.
second, they have no trouble selling every single R8 they produce and every single Gallardo they produce. so they aren't really competing (because the Gallardo will still sell out every model it produces) so much as adding capacity under a different name (that's if you consider them the same car, which i don't)

Awesome, just awesome, I wonder who's driving it, most likely Stephen Reil with the bi turbo W12 A8 who leads quattro GmbH, he's always driving weird ish.
I can't wait to drive this car.
