Acura is in the midst of a major restyling of its entire range of sedans. While we've already seen the new TSX and RL (though an even newer RL has been spied), it's the TL that is the bread-and-butter model of the line. From what has been seen already, we're expecting a version of the blocky metal triangle at the front of the model, though the latest spy photos reveal that the angular theme will be carried over to the rear of the vehicle as well. It's always risky to make major changes to the high-volume model, but it appears as if Acura is not content to just play it safe with its line of uber-Hondas. While the stylists attempt to set new trends, we're pretty sure that the TL will continue to use a front wheel drive architecture and V6 engines, though a form of the automaker's SH AWD seems a distinct possibility.

"...but it appears as if Acura is not content to just play it safe with its line of uber-Hondas."

Um, really? Do we live in the same reality? Before Acura's were just incredibly boring. Now they seem to have perfected walking the line between boring and ugly. Seriously, Jeremy, do you even like cars?

Does anyone else think Autoblog's posts are starting to read like re-written press releases?

Machina, everybody knows that Acuras are made for people who don't like cars.

(Obviously, the NSX, RSX and Integra are excluded from this generalization).

I guess I just find my all-encompassing zen stretches across Acura and many other manufacturers as an enthusiast.

Charlie, everybody knows that people who make bold single-minded generalizations are morons.

My father owns a TL, and he likes cars. Shove it up your ass, prick.

You guys are late to the party. Leftlane posted updated pictures today that shows practically everything uncovered, a bit clearer than the ones from yesterday/day before. And you're way late to the party considering the color chart for the TL showing what's available on the base and SH-AWD plus information regarding the engine and transmissions for at least this year have been released. Search TOV again. It's right in the rumors and news section. We already know SH-AWD is available. You can see the rear differential in the pics you already posted.

And what's with the TL infatuation? I wonder why the "other" Acura news I know you fine folks have hasn't been posted...........*roll eyes*

"Each time the results are released, we can't help but think that the automakers have learned how to ace the tests over the years. Let's bump up the speed in the barrier and sled tests (maybe throw a random angle in there to make things challenging?),..."

Here's an idea: Have the IIHS hit the side of the car with an RPG. That'll give the automakers something to shoot for! All the extra armor and bracing will be good for gas mileage too.

I hope that it looks better in person with the final version. So far it looks like sh#t. I said the same thing about the new TSX and it is still fugly. Acura has gone from boring to homely. I'll take boring over this boat with the Kim Kardashian ass treatment.

So I see their using the bangle-butt now. Excellent.

The rear end is terrible, it just proves Honda/Acura has no idea where they want to go Styling-wise. It looks like a gang of Japanese Youths beat it with an Ugly Stick of sizable proportions. Ha.
it looks like it has diaper but--the rear end just looks massive.

I dunno. Acuras have always been criticized for being bland. At least now they're doing something about it. The TSX has grown on me, and I look forward to the unveiling of the TL.

I'll reserve judgement until the wraps come off, but from the looks of it I'm not quite sure what they are thinking with the brands 'all over the place' design. First the cheese grater on the MDX. Now the silver tooth styling of the RL and TSX.

Call em staid, boring or dated but I think the current TL has aged well and still looks good. I also think the previous gen TSX (before the dinky lower intake redesign) looks pretty good too.

Funny, I never thought of it as a triangle. Trapezoid, yes. Maybe even a rhombus. But not a triangle.

Still don't like it on the TSX though.

way for them to kill trunk access.
What is with honda lately? First the new Pilot, then the TSX, now the TL?

They have a designer on staff who likes ugly looking cars.
Not a Honda/Acura fan ,but this looks way better than anything from out of Detroit.
