By now we've all seen the myriad number of spy shots showing Acura's prototype for the 2010 NSX running around the Nurburgring in Germany. We've also heard the news that Honda CEO Fukui-san wants his NSX to beat any lap times at the 'Ring set by the Nissan GT-R and Lexus LF-A. Thanks to our friends at BridgetoGantry.com, we now have video of the NSX prototype on a short stretch of the 'Ring, and fortunately the audio quality is good enough that you can hear the wail of whatever's underneath the car's hood. As we've mentioned before, what will power the NSX is at this point speculation, but most reports say it will be a 5.5L V10 with iVTEC producing prodigious amounts of horsepower, somewhere in the neighborhood of 500+. Check out the video after the jump and view our collection of NSX spy shots in the gallery below.

Being an NSX it will hopefully be LIGHT WEIGHT - a characteristic of all NSX's so far. Which might give it an advantage.

Things are about to get exciting!

+1
This car sounds amazing. Welcome to the next Japanese performance war. The US and Europe need to step up. This is going to be fun even if I never own the GTR or NSX!

That gentlemen, is indeed a V10 engine note....or a reaalaallly high strung v8.
Which mule has the better engine note? LF-A or NSX ?
hashiryu @ Jun 20th 2008 4:06PM
one thing though, it DOES sound like an auto........ :(
xpolarx @ Jun 20th 2008 4:15PM
I think the LF-A sounds better, but this is a close second. It's going to be a cool car.
Dondonel @ Jun 20th 2008 5:13PM
Both LF-A and NSX sound like Porsche Carrera GT, which is not so surprising considering that they are using 5 liter V10 engines, with higher than 8000rpm redline.
MikeW @ Jun 20th 2008 9:37PM
LF-A
and that sounds like a double clutch transmission.
The carrera GT is odd firing (and M5/6 too), this and the LF-A do not sound odd firing.

My favorite car is the mid 90's NSX- having said that, I'd disappointedly say the LF-A and carrera gt sound better.

Looks pretty B.A. I don't have audio from here but I'd bet it sounds pretty sick.

MikeofLA @ Jun 20th 2008 3:41PM
looks like it rwd... wheres the sh-awd?
Hike15 @ Jun 20th 2008 3:44PM
welll its sh-awd acts similar to the new evo x which is also tail happy so it could just be a characteristic of tese types of awd systems
dresden @ Jun 20th 2008 3:43PM
Glorious.
cly @ Jun 20th 2008 3:43PM
sick exhaust note
Eek @ Jun 20th 2008 3:49PM
That was fun. They say they want it to beat the GT-R and LF-A in lap times. That gets me wondering, did they ever announce the Corvette ZR1's lap times?
Red @ Jun 20th 2008 3:56PM
They haven't, but all things considered, I would think somewhere around 7:26 or 7:27, roughly.
@MikeofLA,
The SH-AWD is supposedly reprogrammed to send more power to the rear than the front.
