Will Tiger defect? Audi launches Golf Collection
When one thinks of cars and the sport of golfing, the vaunted Buick brand immediately springs to mind for its association with living legend of the dimpled sphere Tiger Woods, as well as its sponsorship of the Buick Invitational tournament. Well, Audi is planning on moving into the gentleman's sport with a new collection of golf accessories designed by the Audi Konzept Team in Munich. The Audi Golf Collection features a golf cart bag, travel cover, a trolley travel case on wheels, a sport bag, shoe bag and golf umbrella. Nothing ground breaking, but if you're into Audi design and want to sport some Vorsprung durch Technik on the back nine, then perhaps these items will liberate some greenbacks from your back pocket. PRESS RELEASE
quattro GmbH launches first Audi golf collection
- Exclusive and original: The Audi collection Golf
- Developed by Audi Konzept Design, Munich
The team, headed by designer Mark Shipard, has designed the collection with great attention to detail. The creative minds at the design studio have transferred the typical Audi characteristics to the form, color and materials of all products in the Audi collection Golf. And this is something that the 10 designers at the Design Studio Munich are extremely proficient at – after all, their day-to-day work involves nothing other than classic vehicle design, the design of accessories and visions for the future. The Audi golf bags are noted for their clear design and a completely new product concept. High-tech materials make them particularly light and hard-wearing.
Golf cart bag
Organization is everything – and that's exactly the principle behind the Audi cart bag. Despite its minimal weight, it provides plenty of space for a complete set of clubs and extensive golf accessories. The bag is available in the colors Black/Light Silver and Quartz Grey/Light Silver.
Travel cover
The black travel cover provides excellent protection during transit and space for golf clubs and golf bag, i.e. for two stand bags or for one cart bag. When loaded, it stands in a stable upright position, saving you the effort of having to lift it.
The collection also includes three bags that will appeal not only to golfers.
Audi trolley travel case
High-quality travel case in Black/Light Silver, made of EVA and nylon, with functional and convenient compartments. Trolley function with particularly smooth-running inline skate wheels.
Audi sport bag
Sports bag made of EVA and nylon, with various spacious compartments and pockets. The main compartment measures 50 x 35 x 33 cm. Available in Black and Light Silver.
Audi shoe bag
Padded nylon bag in Black/Light Silber with breathable mesh and divider for one pair of shoes. The tear-proof nylon material is dirt-resistant and washable.
Audi golf umbrella
The double-canopy umbrella makes a clear statement with its unusual design and diameter of 140 cm.
The quattro GmbH range also includes Callaway HX Tour and Callaway Big Bertha golf balls, and the Clean Swing golf towel. All items are immediately available.

Hmm - his free car could be an RS4 or R8 versus the a rebadged GM minivan, suv or car? Yeah I'd jump ship.

why not the LS2LS7? 11:09AM (6/07/2008)
If Tiger wants an R8, he can pay for it out of pocket change.

wouldn't Audi give him a car for free if they knew he would drive it?

Maybe for you it does but not for me. On the other hand, when I think of mud wrestling or pig racing Buick does come to mind!

Buick is a bland, undefined, has-been brand of GM. Audi is cutting edge technology and design for the 21st century. I think it ould be to Tiger Woods' benefit to allign himself with a vehicle like Audi than Buick. It's too bad that if he does jump ship, it'll be for a foreign nameplate.

Maybe Tiger is getting dissatisfied with those cars he is contractually obliged to advertise, and hey, doesn't Audi own Lamborghini and is in the same group as Bugatti? Interesting choices for cars if he does jump ship.
Oh and do those come with quattro? :)

Hahaha... I can't even remember the last time I saw a Buick at the local country clubs golf course... it's 100% Mercs, BMWs, Ferrari, Astons, Audis, Lambos, etc....

I can. It was an employees. :P
While I probably have a higher view of Buick than most here, it isn't even remotely a luxury brand. Caddy is far better to tie in with Tiger. I personally don't see why it's still around either. Other than whining dealerships which in all likely hood have done more damage to GM's reputation and hope for survival than ten centuries of mediocre cars would ever hope to do.

Great.
Will I get a package discount if I buy this and a R8?
