MotoGP is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing and could be considered the Formula 1 of the two-wheeled world. Current series point leader and seven-time Grand Prix World Championship title winner Valentino Rossi has a habit of debuting a new helmet design at the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, and this year's design did not fail to disappoint. Featuring a roughly life-size portrait of The Doctor himself in the middle of a scream, it was pretty hard to miss Rossi, even in the field of brightly colored riders and bikes. If you haven't watched the race and plan to, now would be the time to stop reading, otherwise, find out who won the event after the break, along with a link to the video of Rossi's debut of his unique new helmet design. Thanks for the tip, Gabriel!

Rossi managed to collect the win at the 2009 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, followed on the podium by last year's series winner, Casey Stoner. Dani Pedrosa nabbed the third and final podium position. Rossi managed twenty-five points for his efforts and now leads the series by twelve points over Pedrosa. Stoner currently sits at fourth in the series standings.

true this is last weeks, today he used a football (or soccer for you) helmet and a jumpsuit and bike that looked like the italian football team's uniform. He said he wasnt gonna use the FACE helmet again cause he didnt want to scare off too many people.

      Wait who is Valentio Rossi?

Besides, the helmet scheme is old news.

"this year's design did not fail to disappoint"? huh?

i think you meant "this year's design did not disappoint"
Yeah, I noticed that too. "did not fail disappoint" is a triple negative. If something does "not fail" then it succeeds. If we substitute this in, we get, "this year's design succeeds to disappoint." Which would indicate Autoblog's disapproval, seemingly running contrary to the tone of the whole article.

Actually, these are the colors Rossi used this weekend, in honor of Italy's first match the UEFA Cup.

Why is there a FIAT logo on that Yamaha?
Cause some teams in motoGP are made up by two companies, just like McLaren-MErcedes, theres FIat-Yamaha, Honda-Repsol etc.

Holy crap. Rossi is faster than I realized if he won the 2009 Italian Grand Prix. Beating everybody by a year must be cheating somehow.

I wonder if Autoblog plan to be a week late with the news...

That's funny. Looks like someone computer animated a head onto him while racing.

If you're going to put Valentino Rossi's name in the title of the post, you should spell it right.

and what about "vElentino" among the tags?

      Psychological warfare?
Though, for maximum effect, he should've put it on the back of the helmet XD
