Trollhattan Saab exits the automotive blogosphere

We're very sad to report that Trollhattan Saab, one of the best automotive blogs on the web and a valuable resource and gathering place for Saab aficionados, is closing its doors after today. The site will remain online as an archive, but there won't be any new posts going forward. Steven Wade, Trollhattan Saab's creator and driving force, explains his decision in a post called "The End", which went up on Wednesday. After reading it, we understand why he has chosen to walk away, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing to the people who visited Trollhattan Saab regularly. Good car sites are hard to come by, and this one will surely be missed. Good luck, Swade.

That is sad indeed. I hadn't visted in a while, and I actually felt my heart drop a little when I saw "The End."
Maybe Psharjinian (sorry if I mangled the spelling) should take over. That guy knows his s**t.

Maybe Weblogs\AOL could purchase it and run it as a sister site to Autoblog.

Today, we were all glad to read on TS an amendment by Swade to his post The End. Titled An end, of sorts, it clearly indicates the man is addicted and will have to post a few, once in a while. Stopping two addictions at once is just too much to ask from one bloke! Cheers mate. Hang in there :)

Just curious why my Gravatar from TS doesn't appear on this site. I was under the impression that a Gravator followed you around from site to site. If not, how can I add it?
Many thanks

I don't think there is, or ever has been, a blog for any other marque as informative and emotional, with such a loyal following, as trollhattansaab. Many employers will now rejoice that their employees are not spending the day checking in on Swade's blog.
Fortunately, for those of us addicted to his blog, he'll be back someday, better than ever.

Wow, that's actually sad news for me.
There's still some great Saab sites out there, just gotta look for them.

It is sad indeed. So sad that it influenced me to start blogging on my own to keep myself busy. I always seem to have things I want to tell the community. Now everyone can choose if they want to read it or not. ;)

That's rough. Blogging--at least at his level--is more a labour of love than a real, sustainable job. Actually, it's harder, as you get all the workload of a full-time job and none of the pay, benefits or security.
Plus, you have to work 24x7 to make it viable. Again, without the pay or security of a nine-to-five income. That's rough.
Some bloggers, by virtue of talent, luck or sheer bloody-mindedness manage to make it into a viable career. Most don't. swade did, and did it well, but you've got to set your priorities. Good for him for realizing the need for balance.
