Forgotten Supercar? TVR Speed 12 road car for sale

The TVR Speed 12 seems to be the forgotten supercar, although it certainly has the proper credentials to be remembered as one of the best. With a massive 7.7-liter V12 pushing 820 horsepower and a curb weight of just over 2,000 lbs., the Speed 12 has a power-to-weight ratio nearly twice that of the Bugatti Veyron. The stunning bodywork is done completely in carbon fiber and shifting is done with a true sequential gearbox. Then why the lack of attention? It probably has something to due with the fact that only one road car was built, along with a handful of race cars, and only one test was ever done by the media when it appeared in EVO magazine. The car is now for sale, and we hope the new owner doesn't find it too much of a handful and wreck the one and only example. It's not like it's an Enzo, where you can just go out and buy another. No price is listed, but we would venture to guess it's not cheap.

"[Peter] Wheeler, no newcomer to high performance cars and an experienced racer in the TVR Tuscan Challenge, drove one of the finished prototypes home and concluded that the car was unusable on the road, in his opinion simply too powerful."
The reason why there only only 1 in existence, and why if the buyer isn't very careful that number could very quickly drop to 0

I find this car to be both beautiful and ugly all at the same time.

As Phil said (above)......the car was unusable on the road, in his opinion simply too powerful.
I think you need to be admitted to a psych hospital (for suicidal thoughts :-)

This thing would destroy a viper. I remember the original word from wheeler that it didn't make production because it was simply to insane and the press seemed to agree :).
Few cars scare and impress me as much as this one.

Not really a legitimate supercar, since it was effectively stillborn because it had too much power. Never went into "production" (in a supercar sense, you know). But hey, it's in Forza Motorsport 2, and it is a beast. Absolutely crazy fast, and rather scary to drive. The rear of the car seems hellbent on racing the front of the car around every turn, if there's any throttle being applied.

First thing I thought of after reading the title was "not for those who played PGR2!" haha

TVR itself no longer exists. That Russian guy who bought it seems not so interested anymore

Looks like a supped up and stretched Viper.

I agree the rear end was almost impossible to control... so much oversteer. The car's straightline speed in Forza was incredible, but I could never get the car to corner as well as the AI.

Looks like it could be a Transformer. Although with the ludicrous power to weight ratio I guess all the visual trinkets are okay, the whole car will just be a blur anyways.

Too much power, no where enough traction.
Odd firing engine.

I seem to recall from the Evo article that it also has a tendency to belch massive fireballs from the side exhaust, as amusing as that would be in traffic I am not sure the authorities or fellow motorists would appreciate it

Does anyone have a link to the evo article? I would love to know more about this completely insane, unforgivably ugly and apparently terrifying car. A worthy uber-TVR, it seems.
