Click above for a high-res gallery of the Subaru Impreza WRC2008.Next week's Acropolis Rally in Greece will be the first event in the 2008 WRC season to feature Subaru's new rally car. The
Impreza Rally WRC2008 car was originally previewed at the
Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but Subaru has yet to announce the final specifications of its new rally rocket. Obviously,
Prodrive has had its hand in developing the new racer, but a BOS sticker indicates that Subaru will be utilizing the French outfit's dampers. Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson will pilot the new Impreza in Greece and Prodrive head David Richards is convinced that this is "the most radically different Subaru World Rally Car in 15 years." We're looking forward to seeing how it fares next week.

Except for the spoiler (yes I know it's there for a reason in this case), it looks a hell of a lot better than any of the production models. Should be interesting to see how it does.
tankd0g @ May 20th 2008 11:50PM
That's not saying much.
Jim @ May 20th 2008 3:36PM

yacoub @ May 20th 2008 3:53PM
I see BBS; where's the "BOS" sticker? Also I've not heard of them before - where can i learn more about how awesome they are? =)

their site is a bit outdated, but still somewhat informative

BOS sticker --> rear shot, c pillar.
yacoub @ May 20th 2008 3:50PM
Yeah, other than the outrageous spoiler (which wouldn't be needed on the street-driven version), this is a heck of a lot better looking than the regular production model. =P
ugg.tryptophan @ May 20th 2008 3:53PM
for the first time in two years the impreza looks...awesome
pmiddle5 @ May 20th 2008 3:56PM
How can it be so radically different? hmm. Curious
Richard @ May 20th 2008 7:38PM
What's the big diff?
Other than the rear spoiler, the cut backs on the front fenders and the roof scoop for cabin air how is this different than the STI available to all of us?
OK Silver stripes?!
pmiddle5 @ May 20th 2008 9:33PM
no no no. I wasnt saying different then the STI. In the press release it says it will be radically different then any rally car ever released
broosewee @ May 20th 2008 3:59PM
Ok SWRT, no more excuses. Get on your horse again Solberg. Let's win some rallies!!!
hoosker_doo @ May 20th 2008 4:16PM
Solberg's had his run, I doubt this car will all of a sudden give him energy-legs.
I'm counting on Atkinson.
Smeagle @ May 20th 2008 7:22PM
Atkinson has shown a hell of a lot of potential. With the right car he might just get to the top. Not this year though, I doubt this car will win races straight out of the box.
Richard @ May 20th 2008 7:31PM
Petter, it is said, had quite a hand in designing the Impreza to make this the winner that Subie needs.
Let's hope he did well.
dresden @ May 20th 2008 4:09PM
hawt.
s3ns3 @ May 20th 2008 4:17PM
I bet Solberg demanded for a new car after what happened at Sardegna. It was more than ridiculous.
