Too bad the argument of making cars for different standards is B.S. They already make many cars so they meet 50 state regulations. My Subaru was purchased outside of CA and passed emissions with no modifications. The auto makers are just whining cause they won't be able to charge the buyer for CA emissions without adding any equipment.

And if you worked in the industry you would see the millions upon millions of dollars wasted to homologate cars to the array of standards. It's bad enough that all the world markets have different standards but when you throw in The People's Republic of Commiefornia requirements then even MORE requirements are mandated.
I personally don't believe states should be allowed to make up their own individual emissions standards. It's a huge drain on resources and there should be only 1 federal standard. It's already that way with safety, emissions should follow suit.

Almost half the population of the US under CARB standards. Perhaps it's time to give up on this idea that CARB states are freaks.
